The vehicles I sell on eBay are mostly trade-ins from local dealerships and other dealers in the York, PA area. I buy and sell these vehicles "as-traded". They have not been serviced (unless otherwise specified), detailed, or "prettied up" for retail sale. In order for me to offer them to you on no-reserve or low reserve auction prices, I cannot spend money for these services. I drive every one of my sale vehicles and write a thorough description including the good and bad of the vehicle. All of my vehicles are kept in a fenced and locked lot, so an appointment MUST be made before coming to look at, test drive, or pick-up the vehicle. Up for No Reserve Auction is a 1999 Volkswagen Passat sedan. This mid-size sedan is powered by the 1.8L turbo engine. This turbo four cylinder allows this car to get a good combination of fuel economy and power. The engine runs well and there are no check engine lights. The five speed transmission shifts easily and smoothly. The clutch is easy on the leg and engages with no slipping or chatter. The ABS module on the brakes is a little over sensitive and will occasionally engage ABS mode when braking below 10 mph. A google search indicates that this is most likely a dirty or worn out ABS sensor (wheel speed sensor) and that it will not effect braking at cruising speeds or cause the vehicle to lose braking ability. The brakes otherwise stop strong. The car has good road manners. The white paint on the exterior is in average condition for the age and mileage. The only blemishes of note are on the bumpers (see pics). The seven spoke alloy wheels are in very good condition. They are not curb rashed or scraped up and have a full set of center caps. There is a matching 5th alloy wheel in the trunk as a spare. The matching set of tires have deep tread, but the do create a bit of road noise, a known drawback with Cooper tires. The tan cloth interior is in average condition for the age and miles. The seats are all comfortable to sit in. The driver's seat shows some wear and has the usual tear in the bolster. This car has the full set of power accessories: windows, locks (with keyless remote), mirrors, and sunroof. All work as they should. The A/C blows cold and works in all positions and speeds. The factory radio has good sound quality.
