Up for auction is this 1973 GMC Pickup ~ Super Custom 2500 ~ 454 Engine. Pickup has 76375 actual miles. History of vehicle: Owner lived in Denver, bought this pickup for his fishing trips, he became ill and it sat in his garage until his death, upon which time my next door neighbor inherited it. It sat in his backyard for two years, I think he probably put approx. 1000 miles on the truck at which time I purchased it from him when it had 75640 miles on it. So I have put on about 700 miles since I purchased this truck in 2003. I have all of the dated and mileage diaries for all maintenance records from the original owner, the 2nd owner, and myself, to date. I have added the topper. Put on a new fuel pump, changed out the oil bath to a regular air filter, put on additional mud and snow tires with their own rims, so there are two whole sets of rims. Exhaust muffler has holes and is falling apart. I have wrapped it in sheet metal. I also added a manual choke as the automatic choke didn't release soon enough for me. There is rust damage over both of the rear tires, on the fenders (see photos). I have original sticker window list and owners manual. Vehicle runs really good, I hate to sell it, other than the fact that I just don't drive it, somebody could get some use out of it. I quit keeping the registration current when Colorado raised their registration rates to ridiculously high levels. The original owner added another auxiliary gas tank with an interior switch. The switch quit working, or it could have been the selanoid underneath, but anyhow, I direct feed the gas from the original tank. Dash has cracks from sun damage, other than that, no interior damage. Upholstery has always been covered and is in original condition. All gauges work, all lights work, great truck! Fuel pump has been replaced as the selanoid quit working on the auxillary tank, and I thought the fuel pump had gone, but as I learned later, it was the selanoid. Topper is white colored, does not match. It appears that some paint is coming away from the top of the bedrail leaving a similar color underneath, makes me wonder if this is not original paint, I don't know. Automatic choke did not open soon enough for me and was flooding. That is why I installed the manual choke cable. Carburetor probably needs to be tuned as it seems to run rich. Truck was undercoated by original owner but it didn't stop the rear fender rust. Second owner had alignment on the front end done just before I purchased.
