1969 VW bug "as seen in June 2010 issue of Hot VW's" (pg63) ZERO EMISSIONS! This VW bug is a must see! Restored in 2008, customized to look like a 1940 ford. This fully electric convertible bug is a blast to drive around town and always a "head turner". When the Bug was restored it would travel 30-40 miles per charge. since the batteries are now four years old it has a driving distance of about 25 miles. This distance could be increased to about 60 miles by using new lithium batteries which would also lighten up the weight of the car by 700lbs. This car also could be converted back to gas by installing a gas tank and a VW engine. Electrical components that would be removed could be sold for $5000.00 by themselves. The cars drive train is a Warp 9 motor using sixteen 6-volt batteries for a 96 volt system. Has stock 4 speed transmission. System is from ecomotors. Six batteries under the hood, two under the rear seat, six behind the rear seat, and two in the engine bay. Has alternator which charges a 12 volt battery to run lights, heat, etc. The car does 50mph no problem and can hit speeds up to 70mph. Plugs into a regular 20amp socket. Car is in great restored condition. No rust. Never smoked in, no mechanical problems, garage kept. Honda Accord interior looks new. Car has removable hard top, toneau cover, heavy duty suspension for extra battery weight. Clear title. Has new tires. Includes tow bar and a custom exhaust in case you wish to make it gas powered.
