V-8 Flathead

1940 Ford 4-Door Sedan Deluxe This was a top of the line car in1940. Previous owner who was a Studio Transportation employee where car was used as a Taxi Cab in movies. Original motor, V-8 Flathead, was pulled out of car and while out the following were replaced and installed new: motor seals, new water pumps, painted block when out of car, new motor mounts, transmission mounts, new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, new oil in transmission, rebuilt the Stromberg 97 carburetor, new MSD Mallory Distributor and ignition wires, new MSD Coil, New electrical fuel pump and pressure regulator, and new hoses and belts. The old mechanical fuel pump is still on the motor to keep the original look. New door seals and window seals, no rattles and air tight while driving. All new door handles and exterior trim around door handles. Repaired all the old door mechanisms so door handles function correctly and return to original position without sagging. New door latches. Suspension company installed New King pins in the straight axle in the front end of the car, and it steers beautifully. All stainless steel trim is polished. New bumpers and bar’s on front and back of car. New running boards, hood latch, and head light rings. Motor and car wiring was changed to 12 Volt System by previous owner. New brakes, drums, and wheel cylinders installed in all four corners. All new upholstery, new interior. 12 volt lights on the door post with a switch to control lights under driver side door post. New Ford radio, 12 volt with speakers in front kick panels. Radio appears like stock but works better than the original 6 volt tube radio, and has a nice clear sound. New black paint on body. Car has restored 15" black wheels with new Silvertown radials P-215/75R 15 wide white walls (not original Bias tire that bounces). Car is beautiful and dependable driver. The motor runs cool and smooth. This is definitely an eye catcher and is a complete joy while driving around town. The car has a luscious appearance and receives multiple compliments, thumbs up, and head nods when on the road.
