Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is this very nice, clean, straight & solid 1956 Ford F100 Custom Cab Resto-mod pickup. Before I describe the truck, let me say that the only reason I'm selling it is because my lower back problems have simply made it too painful to continue work on and play with these old cars. The history and drivetrain specifics were provided by the previous owner, who I understand owned the truck for several years. My back condition has prevented me from climbing in, under and around the truck to search for identifying numbers, etc. This truck was restored a number of years ago (in the 90's) by a professional car builder. It has a Ford 351-C small block engine, backed by an FMX transmission, and a 9" Ford rearend. It starts right up, and runs and drives very well. The truck features a Chevelle front clip (subframe & suspension), with power brakes and power steering. I do not know what year these components are from. The engine starts and runs extremely well and strong, seems very tight upon shutdown, and shows no smoke at all, and clean tailpipes. The transmission shifts positively. The body is finished in 1987-88 GM IROC yellow, and is in very good condition. As you can see in the pictures, this color is what I would call a subdued lemon yellow (not too bright and gawdy!) The body is very, very straight, with no visible damage at all. There is no visible evidence of rust. Whatever, if any bodywork that may have been performed was done very well, with NO ripples or waves as I sight down the panels. The interior is nice, and with a little upgrading, could be show quality. It has a tilt steering column, with a column shift, and a Grant GT solid hardwood steering wheel. The heat works well, and the aftermarket A/C blows cold. There is a Panasonic AM/FM stereo installed in the glove box. It has a digital dash, and while the speedo and charging indicator work well, the gas guage, temperature and oil gauges don't seem to be working. I'm told that this may be a lack of voltage to the dash panel, but I can't confirm that. The truck has Cragar wheels in very good condition. The rear tires are P255/70SR15 BF Goodrich T/A Radials, and the front tires are also BF Goodrich 225/70R 15's. They are all in excellent condition, with not a lot of wear. The bed features custom tailgate latches, and the hardwood floor, while it could use a fresh coat of varnish, is in very good condition. This '56 Ford F100 Truck is being sold "AS IS" and "WHERE IS" with no verbal or written warranties, expressed or implied, with clear & clean Arizona title and current registration. Zero feedback bidders please call me prior to bidding, or your bids will be canceled. This truck is being advertised locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. The winning bidder is responsible for transportaion and delivery of the truck. I will of course assist in loading the truck. Winning bidder please call 928-533-4481, or email thru eBay within 24 hours of the close of auction. I require $500.00 down payment via PayPal, or cash within 48 hours of close of auction. Balance due in either CASH, bank wire transfer within 5 days of auction close. I will make one exception here, and will accept a certified (bank) check. However, if balance is paid by bank check, I WILL NOT release the truck until confirmation of my bank that the check has been paid and deposited. 5/29/12- I just added a picture of the hood so that the louvers can be seen. Due to the lighting in my garage, it looks like the right front fender color may be lighter than the rest of the truck. This is not the case. As can be seen in the other pictures (taken outside in the sun), the fender matches the rest of the truck, and has not been repaintedOn May-29-12 at 16:26:08 PDT, seller added the following information: 5/29/2012- Two things have come to my attention by an informed F100 guy, and bidder: First, it appears that the engine is a 351 Windsor, and NOT a Cleveland. The valve covers are different, and on the Windsor, the upper radiator hose connects to the intake manifold, which mine does. Secondly, the truck was not built in the 90's. Rather, it was built in 1983 by Dan Carpenter of Dan Carpenter Specialties in Norwood, N.C. (no relation to Dennis Carpenter, although friends and business associates, as I understand). Dan has been building beds for these pickups for many years (28 according to his website), as and sell many other items for the trucks, as well. Believe me, the truck looks, runs and drives like it was built not more than a few years ago. I encourage you to inspect the truck before bidding, as you will NOT be disappointed. You can go to Dan Carpenter's website @ www.dancarpenters.com/ . Scroll down and click on "just for fun", then scroll down to a picture of this truck. You can also view Dan's latest build, a beautiful silver '56 Big Window, which has been featured in Classic Trucks magazine. I hope this news doesn't change any Bidder's minds about your bids, but if it does, just email or call me asking to withdraw your bid, and I will be happy to do so. I apologize for the errors
