I drive every one of my sale vehicles and write a thorough description including the good and bad of the vehicle. I try to accurately describe any mechanical issues to the best of my ability, but I am not a mechanic. Up for auction with NO RESERVE is a 1994 BMW 740i. The 7-series is BMW's top-of-the line and it shows in materials quality and longevity. An "average" 94 740i will be in much better condition than an "average" 94 Honda Civic. The black exterior of this BMW is in average condition. It looks very nice from a few feet away. Upon close inspection, it has the small scratches and nicks that accumulate from normal use. There are no noteworthy dents nor clear coat peeling. There is a small crack in the windshield where the mirror mounts. This is above the AS1 line and would not be an inspection issue in most places. (I am not an inspection mechanic and cannot state with certainty if it will or will not pass in your specific state or city.) The BBS alloy wheels have no curb rash. They show well and have a full set of BMW center caps. The black leather interior is in average condition. The leather does not have any holes or split seams. The cushions are comfortable and the leather is supple. The power reclining feature on the driver's seat does not function correctly; it is stuck. I think the seatback is in a perfect position, very slightly reclined allowing for a comfortable driving position. The carpets and headliner are in very good condition. The switch for the power sunroof does not stay in the headliner as it should. It appears to have a broken trim piece. The real wood accents throughout contrast nicely with the black leather. The 282hp 4.0L V8 engine has plenty of power and loves to rev all the way to the 6,200 rpm red line. The Adaptive Drive automatic transmission is probably the sporty-est, most intuitive transmission ever built. It shifts effortlessly. With a slight touch on the gas, it almost instantly drops down one gear to give smooth acceleration. Gas it hard and it will drop down two gears, putting the V8 engine square in the power band, and this full size luxury sedan gets up and moves! This car does idle a bit rough at times. It acts like it has a vacuum leak, but I cannot locate it. (It is not a compression issue, it was checked and the compression is with-in normal range for all cylinders). There is evidence of a slow oil leak on or around the A/C compressor. The suspension is what I would expect from a luxury sedan: handles bumps and corners well without feeling floaty or disconnected. There is the usual mild 70 mph shimmy that develops as the suspension wears. Suspension components for these cars are not expensive and are easy to obtain; they are not dealer only special parts. The ABS brakes stop strong and straight. The 740i is a well optioned luxury car. It has the full set of power accessories: windows, locks, mirrors, and sunroof; all work as they should. The factory stereo system is in lock mode. I do not have the radio code, but the new owner should be able to obtain the code from a BMW dealership with proof of ownership. The front seats have the heated seat option, but it is to warm to test them! The A/C blows cold. This car has a PA state safety and emmission inspection good throught the end of June 2012. The 7-series BMW has a timeless design. Even at almost 20 years old, this car still looks like money. A black on black BMW looks good no matter what the occasion. I take selling vehicles on eBay very seriously. In the event of any bid retraction or bid change, it shall be the right of the seller to honor or not honor the outcome of the auction. This descision will be made at the sole discretion of the seller and can be made at any time while the auction is live or after the auction closes regardless of any circumstance. Additionally, any member who changes or withdraws a bid may be permanently barred from bidding on future auctions.
The seller may, at its sole discretion and for any reason deemed appropriate, cancel any bid or restrict any member from bidding on current and future auctions.
By placing a bid on any of our auctions, each bidder asserts that they have read and agree to our entire terms & conditions as well as eBay's terms & conditions. Additionally, each bidder enters into a binding contract to purchase the item they are bidding on should they be the successful bidder. By placing a bid on any of our auctions, each bidder asserts that they understand the risks of purchasing a used vehicle and have fully excercized their ability to complete any diligence needed prior to placing their bid.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 administrative fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, ect., and is not applied to any transfer costs incurred by the purchaser. The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
