For sale here is a 1997 Pontiac Firebird Convertible. Overall body condition is very good, only one door ding on right rear quarter panel. Convertible top was replaced several years ago; it is in good condition with no leaks. This car needs to be repainted; the clear coat started bubbling a couple of years ago, the pictures will show this. There is no known rust. I believe this has always been a California car - I've had it for 14 years here in San Jose as the second owner. Mechanical condition is very good except for leaking rocker cover gaskets. Engine runs strong with no problems at all. Transmission shifts smoothly, no problems. No known differential or steering problems. A/C blows cold. Everything in this car works as it should; power top, windows, controls, gauges, etc. Tires will need to be replaced soon. Chrome wheels have minor scratches from curb bump by previous owner. The 100,000 mile tuneup was not long ago with no problems. Brakes were done, too, at that time. Passes smog with no problems; I will get a new test for the transfer when I am sure I have a buyer. Interior is generally good, no rips, tears, or stains in the upholstery. Door panels are excellent. Back seats are excellent. Carpeting on the driver's side is worn and should be replaced if you don't want to just cover it with mats. The plastic cover on the inside of the driver's door that is near the mirror is missing; I just haven't bothered to get a replacement. Center console is not worn. Seat belts are good; the driver's side front belt has been replaced. This car runs and handles well and is fun to drive. With the V6 engine, gas mileage is reasonable, I recall a best of about 24-25 MPG on the highway. This car has an alarm and remote keyless entry (and trunk release). If you dial down the sensitivity of the alarm sensors, you can actually have it chirp or alarm if someone just looks in the window! As they no longer make Firebirds, don't miss out on this opportunity to own a piece of history; with some care this car will last a long, long time.
