Vehicle Detail

1985 Fiero 308 Replica. V6 Automatic. Air Conditioning, Sunroof, Suspension Lowered, Custom Tires and Italian Ferrari Rims, Runs GREAT!! It was painted Ferrari red by the previous owner who claimed to have spent $3500 on the paint job. I've owned this car for about a year and have put a ton of work and love into it. I use it as my everyday car now. Starts and runs perfectly every time! I just can't have a 2 seater with 4 kids who need rides. This car turns heads everytime I'm out! Here's what I've done so far, followed by what I would do next if I kept it: Completed Work Hours Cost New front speakers 2 100 Quarter Panel Louvers 8 200 Seat covers (custom made 2 piece covers) 4 250 Cloth horses (x3) 3 40 Front emblem 1 75 Side emblems (x2) 1 25 Rear letters 2 30 Silver horses (x2) 1 25 Horn button 4 50 Shift knob 2 25 Interior diamond back 8 20 Door locks (interior mechanism) 1 15 Small horse 1 15 Carpet paint 8 20 Vinal paint 20 50 Engine paint 5 30 Wax / buffing 10 25 Brakes (new pads on all tires and regreased calipers and painted red) 10 70 Clutch (new master and slave cylinder), Emergency Brake (new cable running down drivers side) & Lights (rewired, new light, and new connectors) 8 500 Muffler brace 2 10 Rear Vents (for engine airflow) 4 50 Turn knob (not installed yet) 0 15 Heat shield (to protect paint above engine) 4 30 Oil changes/oil flush 3 140 Carpets, wipers, glues, rubber trim 2 50 Weather strips 3 40 Metal stickers 1 15 Center caps 3 75 Keys (ignition only) 0.5 10 Touch up paint 3 40 Neutral safety switch (currently disabled) 3 24 Water tank & motor 3 32 Front shocks 4 100 Rear shocks/struts 6 250 New drive/serpintine belt 2 100 New alternator 4 400 Cold air intake 2 75 New spark plugs and wires 4 100 New distributor cap 1 30 Trunk carpet 4 50 Ferrari plate on engine 1 30 Drain/fill transmission fluid 4 40 Electrical wire wraps 4 20 Completing doors 10 100 AC Work (new belt, R12 to R114 Conversion) 5 100 New Visors 2 50 New mirrors 4 100 Paint Job (previous owner) 20 3500 Fuel System Work (previous owner) 10 1000 215.5 hours $8,141 Forgot to add the front licence plate bracket was custom made and is boltless. Here's what I would do next if I kept it. Most are not necessities but I want to put everything out there for you: - A/C has been converted to R114 with a new belt. However, when I charged it, it cooled the car for about 20 minutes then stopped cooling. I would buy a dye kit (about $10) and find the leaks and repair it or have someone repair it. The compressor turns and sounds fine. - Small water leak on the passenger back corner of sunroof. Needs new gasket or the seal fixed. - I need keys made for the passenger doors. Right now I keep it unlocked, which is ok since most people can't figure out how to work it. The electric buttons in the car work fine for locking and unlocking. - Small oil leak, I think from the oil fill cap? It's only about 1 drop every few days but enough that over time you'll get a spot in your driveway. I have not had to fill oil because of the leak. - I would buy wheel spacers for the rear tires to move them out a few inches. - I replaced the passengers seatbelt to a new red one, I would do the same to the drivers just so they match. - Needs a prop for rear trunk - Needs new spring for rear trunk release (needs 2 people to open, one pushes button and one lifts rear hood because spring doesn't spring it open) I can send more pictures if you want. Check my feed back, I'm a very honest seller. GOOD LUCK!!!! On May-25-12 at 09:48:25 PDT, seller added the following information:There's so many things I've done that I forgot to add a few to the table. So here's a few things I've done that I've missed: - The steering wheel cover is a special fit leather cover made for that exact wheel. There's about 50 stitches on the cover that I hand stiched it. It is not a cheap cover you just slide over the wheel. I paid about $75 for it and spent about an hour sewing it on. - The stereo is a pioneer with a removable face and CD player. There are speakers (new) in the dash and there are speakers in both of the seats that are original and work great. - I added the cup holder to the center console, cut and fit to the size of the holder. I need the coffee in the morning. - The horn button is a exact fit for the wheel. I had trouble wiring it up because you need to run the wires through the center portion of the wheel. This requires removing the wheel, but without a wheel puller, I couldn't do it. So I added the red button you see on the right side dash for the horn. I think it looks cool. The horn works great, just need to wire it up to the wheel button. Then you can use the red button for something else, like a "go fast" kit. I did have it wired to the wheel button for a while (not going through the center) but would get cut over time. You really need to pull the wheel out to route it properly. - High beams work fine, but I use a small button attached to the actuating rod for the high beams. Again, the wheel really needs to be pulled to get this wired to the turn signal rod. - It does have cruise control but it's not working now. It's probably a very easy fix like a small vaccuum leak but I haven't looked into this at all. Plus I'm always in traffic so cruise does me no good. - There is a locking mechanism for the gas fill port that works fine. The filling tube doesn't quite line up when filling gas. But I will get this fixed before selling the car. I think it's an easy fix that I'll get done next week. - I added a new cable for the emergency brake but it doesn't work now. I think it just needs to be tightened up. The light comes on when you have it engaged, but it won't stop the car now. I'll try to have that fixed next week as well. I'm probably going to lose a lot of money on this car. But I'm ok with that, because it has been so much fun to drive and I learned so much from having it. I really wanted to turn over a gem to the next buyer, and I'm real close. If I don't sell it, it will be perfect by the end of the summer. Kyle --> ceo@moontowncafe.comOn May-27-12 at 10:43:06 PDT, seller added the following information:I've been getting a ton of questions about this, many are the same. So here's some of the answers and a few extra pics. First, the door you see on the pics on the driver's side louvre is for filling the gas. It is lockable and has 2 keys to go with it. Next, the car gets about 25 MPG highway and 19 City. I think that could go up a couple with a dynamic performance tuneup. Most race shops can do this for between $50 - $100. I can have this done for you, if you pay the fee at the end of the auction. The paint job is very good to excellent but not perfect. There's a couple areas that do not detract at all from its beauty. The owner before me had it towed and it got hair-line crack (about 7" very thin) in the paint near the front emblem. I tried to take a good picture of it, but it's hard to capture with a camera and most will never even see it. I added a couple pictures at the end so you can see. I also included a picture of the passenger door when open. If you notice there's no door handle on the outside. The lock button (up/down) on the outside of the car is how you open the doors. Just push down the button. I heard the do this to reduce drag of the car. I've spent a lot of time with the doors and door jambs as they were mostly unfinished when I got this. They still need some work, however. I plan on selling it to the high bidder, even if reserve not met. I'll just send a second chance offer when it's over. I put a reserve price on it, just in case nobody looked at it. I'll try to lower it from the $11,500 that's on it, but if I can't I NEED to sell this. I really need a 4 seater! On May-29-12 at 19:03:45 PDT, seller added the following information:I just lowered the reserve price a couple thousand dollars. This is a 4 Speed Manual Transmission NOT an Automatic. Sorry for the mistake. The engine is an awesome 2.8L V6!!! Call my cell at (757) 333-1982 if you have any questions. Thanks! On Jun-02-12 at 10:39:36 PDT, seller added the following information:I just lowered the reserve price to $8600 but will probably sell to highest bidder ever if RESERVE IS NOT MET. All the work the I've done to the car has been done in the last 12 months, including the Transmission Drain and Fill (flush). Please call around to see how much shipping will be if you win. I'll drop it off at a shipping company but you'll need to arrange payment and set it up. Or you can drive it home. I've fixed the fuel fill so you can fill it easily with the locking door on the driver's side louvre. I'll spend a few hours tomorrow grooming the doors so they look better. Good Luck!!!
