1968 Pontiac Firebird

Due to the previous winner losing his job, the 1968 Pontiac Firebird is back up for auction. It had a custom hot rod restoration performed on it approx. 20 years ago. When it was finished it was one of the fastest cars in the the area. However, It is in need of a restoration again. The car runs off a can of gas, because the tank has a golf ball sized hole in it. It runs and moves. The car cold idles with 50-60 pounds oil pressure. The motor is a SB 350 Chevy with 202 heads. It has a double feed four barrel Holley carb with a Edelbrock Torker II aluminum intake. It needs a driver side motor mount as it has the old GM style rubber mounts and its broken. It has an M21 or M22 Muncy four spd. I believe its an M21 though. The trans is excellent. It has 4.11 posi rear with 8.5 inch ring gear. All subframe and rear leaf spring mounts and bushings are solid. The underneath is structurally sound, however it needs floor pans throughout including the center trunk pan. What is left of the paint is a custom red with metal flake clearcoat, however as mentioned before it needs to be restored. Both rear quarters were replaced when restored. Both are very solid. There is some rust here and there on the body. There are also a couple dents and dings. The paint is has pealed in spots. Brakes work, however they should be gone over as it hasn't been on the road in awhile. As mentioned the vehicle is in need of restoration, however it would make an excellent candidate as it is straight and runs and drives. More pictures can be taken upon request.
