Vehicle Detail
Here we have a 1997 Ford E-150 Explorer Limited high top conversion van. For those of you that do not know, Explorer is the top of the line when it comes to conversion vans. I still have the window sticker for this van as well as all the factory books for the van, the vcr and the built in vacuum. The sticker price of this van was $36,000 when new in 97 but to buy this same van now it would cost you over $50,000. This van is loaded. This van has power mirrors, windows, and locks, front and rear heat and A/C, TV, VCR with the remote, and hook ups for a Super Nintendo (the hook ups are there for power and the remote controls to go to the back of the van but the system console was removed and the VCR started eating tapes so the entertainment package should be upgraded. I can do this but that would be an additional cost to the van). This van also has Privacy curtains in excellent condition, a built in vacuum cleaner, power rear bed, driver and front passenger power seats, storage compartments all the way around the top, a cooler in between the front seats, 4 captains chairs, running boards, I believe 8 speakers, the middle captains chairs swivel and it has the larger of the motors that Ford offers for this year which is great if you choose to want to pull a camper with the class 3 trailer hitch located under the bumper. The engine is the legendary 5.4 Triton V8 with a very low 119,000 miles and counting because I still use it and let me tell you probably the best thing about this van is the engine. This van has enough power to tow just about any camper you can put behind it and the breaking system is just as impressive. This van gets according to the window sticker 13 MPG city and 18 MPG hgwy but that varies on your driving style and if you are pulling anything. I just had the garage put on new inspection and emission stickers and for that to happen I had to replace the plugs, one O2 sensor and two coil packs so you will be good to go for another year with what should be complete care free motoring. I kid you not, when you come and take this for a test drive you will not go home without it so be sure to bring cash. Also the van has 4 matching tires (the back 2 are like new and the front 2 have about half tread or more yet) and the spare (not a matching tire brand but a matching size) is brand new with 0 miles on it. Now that I have told you all the great things about this top of the line conversion van, sadly there are a few things that are less then great... The van had a blowout some time ago causing some damage to the passenger quarter panel and back side door as well as the running board. The running board had some repair done but I felt the quarter was not worth repairing so as seen in the picture the damage is still there but again in my opinion is still minimal. The next item on the bad list is the interior, in my opinion it is in good condition but there are some stains on the carpet from the kids having too much fun on vacation. The seats do have a little fading (I still would consider them to be in good condition though because the fading is very mild) but they are not purple at all like they may look like in some of the photos (I need a better camera lol). I did have the van fully and professionally detailed but not all the stains were able to come out. Please keep in mind that this van is a 97 and even though it has low miles and runs like its new it is still a 97 and you are going to find it is not in pristine condition. Then again if that's what you want you can always go and buy a new one for more then ten times the money I am asking. If instead you want to buy a van that you will have more fun in then any car you ever taken on vacation before this is it. The money you save buying this van will buy you a lot of vacation time and you don't have to worry so much about the kids having too much fun. The asking price for the van is $4500 or best offer. I don't have the room for it at my house anymore because I bought a truck and I need this sold as soon as possible. My loss is your gain. I also have the van listed locally and reserve the right to end the listing early if it sells. I will end saying that probably the most valuable part of this van is the piece and quiet you will get on those long trips to Disney World because the kids are watching TV and playing video games in the back seat instead of hounding you "ARE WE THERE YET"? Please feel free to call, text or email me with any questions or offers anytime. Payment is due within 3 days of the auction ending. Thank you for your interest and GOD BLESS. On May-22-12 at 15:50:01 PDT, seller added the following information: A quick UPDATE!!! I mentioned the first time I listed this van that there was a small crack in the windshield. I removed that information from the listing because it got bigger so I intended on replacing the windshield. The van will have a new windshield professionally installed tomorrow, Wednesday 5-23 so this van is being sold as having a new windshield.
