1955 Nash Custom Ambassador Sedan ANY QUESTIONS? PLEASE CALL (786) 517-7002 Stunning 3-Owner Rare Factory 320 Cu. In. V-8 Engine Working Original Radio Factory Continental Kit Beautiful Authentic Car This car is far and away one of the rarest and nicest 1955 Nash Custom Ambassadors around. Most of these cars made it only to the junk heap, but this car was lovingly cared for all of its life. This car was maintained by three caring owners and spent most of its life in a climate controlled garage in sunny California. It was kept in very nice mechanical and cosmetic condition. This car is a beautiful specimen. It is one the prettiest 57 year old cars that you will ever see. The paint on the car is an Antique White with Salmon and causes oohs and ahs everywhere it goes. The car was repainted when it was restored around 10 years ago and it is a very good paint job showing minimal wear. The paint is much better than a driver quality paint job and is certainly respectable enough to win a trophy at a local car show, but is not a perfect national show restoration paint job. The interior of the car is a beautiful antique white with multi-color cloth. People are always commenting on how unusual and beautiful the color combination looks. The interior of the car is incredible. It has to be one of the nicest interiors you can find on one of these cars. The seats look great, showing no wear. The door panels are a combination of tan and antique white and look super. The carpeting is perfect showing no wear. It is a very high grade carpet and looks new. The headliner is original including the net carrier. The sun visors are the very rare original green plexiglass, which are really neat. This car has one of the most unusual and beautiful dashboards ever made, and it is in very, very nice condition showing NO wear. The dash pad has no cracks or fading. The chrome and painted parts of the dash are original and are also excellent. The steering wheel is original showing no cracks, a beautiful chrome horn ring, and a perfect center hub. The windshield is very good with no cracks or scratch marks. All the other glass is nice with a slight yellowing on the edges of the back windows. The car has all new weather stripping which looks real great. It just doesn’t get any nicer in a 57 year old car. The car is equipped with the original radio that works perfectly. The rare full wheel covers really add a nice accent to the car. The original continental kit is a very neat option, looks great and works perfectly. The car runs nicely and is in need of NOTHING as far as I can tell to improve it mechanically (except for a leaking center driveshaft seal). I have the replacement seal, but have not had time to install it. It will come with the car when it is sold. The Nash has correct Wide-White bias ply tires that are in superb condition. The car is equipped with the very rare Packard V-8 engine that sports 208 horsepower. This was one of the rarest Nash options and was only put in 8,805 of the 55 Nash Custom Ambassadors. This engine is extremely quiet and purrs as it travels down the road at 80 mph. This is one of the best engines ever made and has most of its life still in front of it. The mileage on the odometer reads 67,000 miles which is the original mileage. The wheelbase on the car is 121.3 inches and can really seat 6 people comfortably and could hold another 3 lying side by side in the trunk for those of you that still try to sneak extra people into the Drive-in. This car also features the fold down seats that lie flat and make into a twin bed. The trunk was redone and is in very nice condition. The engine compartment is completely authentic and is in really nice condition. It is good enough to take to a local car show and display. It is not, however, a show engine for a concourse event. All of the chrome and bright work are in good condition. The bumpers could really use a rechroming for show, but still shine when put on display. The rest of the brightwork is not perfect, because it is original and is 57 years old. The overall bright work on the car is good and again will pass for a local show, but will need to be redone for a top-notch event. This car has won many trophies at local car shows. THE CAR IS EQUIPPED AS FOLLOWS: 320 cu. in. 8 cylinder Packard original engine Oil bath air cleaner Electric clock Hydromatic transmission Dual sideview mirrors Push-button radio Full wheel covers Reclining seats Hood ornament HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE: TThe 1955 Nash was introduced to the public during October, 1954. There were only 8805 4-door V-8 Custom Ambassador units produced, making it one of the lowest production luxury cars of its era. The shipping weight was 3827 pounds and it had an original selling price of $3,925.00. ABOUT THE SELLER: In real life I am a school principal.
