I have left many of the questions and answers from the last time I listed this car, as your read through this information you may find some of your questions already answered. Here is a very rare 1966 K code fastback. According to the Hipo Mustang Registry, it is one of 4 Antique Bronze Hi-po fastbacks known to exist. This colour accounted for only 2.4 % of all Mustang production. There were roughly 5,400 1966 K code Mustangs ever built, this figure includes convertibles and coupes. It is one of 330 1966 fastbacks in the Hipo Mustang Registry. It has the desirable and correct HEH-BX Toploader close ratio 4 speed transmission. It is finished in its factory correct Antique Bronze paint and has a black standard interior. There is no rust in the car and the fender wells are stamped with the correct K code numbers in the 3 places they should be. The car maintains it's factory 9 inch, 3.5:1 open rearend. The factory engine was rebuilt professionally 600 miles ago with some genuine Shelby upgrades such as the S2MS Cobra high rise intake manifold, a real Shelby Holley 715 CFM carb with Lemans bowls. It has a real 1966 Shelby 9,000 RPM tach and a hard to find FoMoCo 4 in 1 gauge, both mounted on the original dash. It has the factory HCC-AX close ratio steering box date coded December 27th, 1965. It has the correct, factory welded in dual exhaust brackets as it should have. It has a brand new dual exhaust system with the correct Y pipe, connected to its factory hipo exhaust manifolds which have been ceramic coated. Genuine Buddy Bar Cobra valve covers were also used on this engine. The distributor is the original FoMoCo dual point type. A modern Nostalgia series Competition solid cam was used along with 1.6 roller rockers. This car has a history free of accidents and is clear of all liens. This car is not a GT and does not pretend to be, in fact it had very few factory options. I have a copy of the original bill of sale from March 15, 1966. This car is registered in the Hi-Po Mustang registry. It is completely driveable and is driven only on sunny days for pleasure use only. It has collector plates status so it qualifies for much lower insurance rates. The car has 5 matching dual red line bias play tires with very low miles. They are on Ford steel rims with hub caps as shown. The engine compartment is beautifully detailed to show quality. These pictures were taken less than four weeks ago. There are some minor finishing issues to be attended to such as connecting the fuel gauge, the wind shield wipers and back up lights which I simply have not had the time to do. The car is for sale locally here in Canada so I reserve the right to end the auction earlier. I have no problem assisting potential buyers in importing this car into the United States. I have several pictures of the car from the 60's plus pre restoration pictures as well. Please ask any questions that you may have. I am sure that I have left out many things. UPDATES: THE LAST 2 PICTURES OF THE CAR IN THIS LISTING ARE WHAT THE CAR LOOKED LIKE BEFORE BEING RESTORED. You may also call me at 604 850 1147. If I am not home, leave a message and I will return your call. My email is rburton1961 at hotmail dot com if you prefer that form of communication. To all the people that saw this car at the car show a few weeks ago and over the last little while yes, this car is the car. Yes the engine was just rebuilt to the tune of $7,500 and has about 600 miles on it since then. Yes I have the receipts, yes it was professionally done. No, it was not for sale then but it is now! I hope this answers all of the questions that I am getting about this car from local people like the one below. The car itself is showing 128,302 miles on the odometer..I have also posted a copy of the original bill of sale, (with the original owner's name removed). As you can see the VIN numbers posted match the VIN numbers on the original invoice One more question to answer, I guess you all figured out my email address from a previous update; Yes it comes with both air cleaner housings, the Cobra Style one, (makes it look like a tri-power), and the stock type. Before you ask, yes it comes with the correct hoses for each, the correct decal and the correct oil filter cap for each. My collectors insurance prohibited the use of the Cobra Style one here in BC in case you are wondering why I have two. Thank you for all of the questions, interest and kind words. Its a beautiful car! Rob B. On May-15-12 at 10:24:45 PDT, seller added the following information: ATTENTION BIDDERS WITH LOW FEEDBACK RATINGS, I see that several bidders on this vehicle have feedback scores of less than 10. Please note, I will accept your bids, after all everyone has to start somewhere, however I expect that you honour these bids. Thank you, Rob B. On May-17-12 at 10:06:50 PDT, seller added the following information: THURSDAY MAY 17, 2012: 09:46 PST Many of you have been asking for a couple of undercarriage shots, I just uploaded 4. The car has been driven about 600 miles since restoration so there is some dirt present. This will wash off easily if it is a major concern to you. As you can see the car maintains its correct and original 9'' rear end with the correct tapered axles. In order for this to be a genuine K code axle, the ends of the axle must taper as the get close to the wheel. Many people try and fake the real axle by using one that is out of a Granada or a Versaille. The lack of taper if a dead give away. It not out of a Granada or anything else, this is the axle that came with the car back in 1966. The exhaust system is the correct style with the Y pipe, the dual resonators and dual mufflers. The exhaust hangers brackets are welded in to the car body as they should be for a K code or a GT car. You can also see the big harmonic balancer indicative of the Hipo engine. I hope this answers the many questions that I have received about rear axles, welded in exhaust hanger brackets and general undercarriage questions. Rob B.On May-17-12 at 10:28:59 PDT, seller added the following information: THURSDAY MAY 17, 2012: 10:17 A couple of you wanted a picture of the back end of this car so that you could be sure that the pictures of the underneath of this car that I posted were actually of this car. Here you go. Please note; All the pictures that I have posted of this car are of this car. Also, I see that ebay cropped out the tapered part of the axle in one of the pictures that I took. That taper should be clearly visible in this shot now. I ALMOST FORGOT... I have had several requests from people for me to "hold the phone up to the engine/exhaust pipe" for you when you call so that you can hear it start and run. That is not a problem. If I was buying a car from God knows where I would like to hear it run to. Please email or call for an appointment for me to do that. If I am home I will do it right away as the car is right here.
