This is a 1977 Volkswagen Bus. It runs and drives great and is ready for summer fun. The Body is in very nice condition. It has a few very minor dents. It was originally white and has been re-painted a slightly brighter white at some point in its life. It has very little rust but does have some in the typical bus places. The worst rust is around the battery tray area and you can see this at the very bottom behind the right rear wheel arch. There is also a little rust at the bottom of the windshield and some other surface spots. Overall there is much less than your average vintage Bus. The floors are all very solid. The paint is pretty decent and the bus presents very nicely. There are some touch up spots of brushed on white paint. The worst is on the front right above the turn signal/marker light (see picture), It had a Bra on the nose when I bought it and they tend to trap moisture and hold it against the paint. This caused some of the paint on the nose to bubble and flake off, but since it is also white underneath the paint it doesn't look that bad. Overall this bus looks very respectable. The cab interior is extremely nice the original seats are in good condition. The dashboard is very nice. The door panels, floor mat, cab headliner are all original and in very good condition. The back is a conversion camper with some homemade parts. It has curtains all around including covering between the cab and camping area. It has a folding "Z" bed rear seat. The upholstery is pretty tattered on it but it is still very comfortable. It has a thick shag carpet on the floor, door panels and ceiling in the back that is mostly in nice condition and very comfortable. The rear area also has the same carpet as a headliner which is mostly nice but it was done in small squares glued to the roof and a few are missing. Mechanically this bus is in decent condition. The Engine is fuel injected and starts easy and runs strong. It is a bit ticky sounding at idle but very smooth and quiet at speed with decent power (for a VW bus of course) and easily cruises along at freeway speed. It doesn't leak or burn an excessive amount of oil. It has a brand new muffler. The Brakes are all nearly new and work great. The handbrake works. The clutch works perfect. The gearbox works good except for a slow synchro in 3rd gear. If you shift too quickly into 3rd you'll get a crunch. with just shifting a little slower or double clutching it drops into 3rd with no problem at all. The electrics are in great condition. The charging system works great and just about everything electric works, lights, dash indicators, gauges, wipers, heater blower motor even the horn works! The Battery is new. The suspension rides nice and smooth and the steering is nice and tight and tracks great. The windshield has 1 rock chip but otherwise all the glass is good. and the windows roll up and down great. All the side windows are tinted adding a little privacy for camping. The wheels and tires are all in good very usable condition with plenty of tread left and it has a good spare with the tools to change it. It comes with a nice roof rack. It has driving lights on the front bumper and they do both work. The heater works great and without the typical VW burnt oil smell. It comes with its original owners manual still in the glove box and also the auction includes the bra removed from the front and still in good condition, also comes with a heated seat pad that plugs into a cigarette lighter socket. It has a socket added to the passengers seat base and another added to the dashboard, both are neatly installed. There is no stereo installed but it does have the factory blanking plate on the dash where it would go. It does come with a clear title. Overall this is a very respectable classic bus that is ready for use as is or due to its straight body and relatively low rust would make a great candidate for restoration.
