Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This 1979 Mercedes 450SL has been a fun car to own and drive; I’ve used it for my daily driver for the past 3 summers, and it gets a lot of attention. My wife bought it for me on ebay in 2007 as a Christmas gift and I’ve enjoyed it immensely. The car is in great shape to maintain and improve as a collectible, and each year I’ve tried to do something to fix it up. The prior owner bought the car pre-owned and held on to it for about 20 years (according to his service records), I believe I’m only the third owner in 33 years. The car had 86,555 miles when I got it, and it now has over 107,000. Over the past few years I’ve added new Bilstein shocks, brakes, muffler, headrests, timing chain/tensioner, tires and more. The car had been repainted at some point before I got it so the paint looks great, but has a little rust by the left rear wheel. Otherwise it looks great. The soft top and hard top are both in good shape, although I rarely use the hard top. I have all service records from the prior owner as well as from the time I’ve owned it. I’m selling car to make more room in my garage with kids coming home from college, etc. This is the best time of year to drive it, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to tool around this spring and summer in a classic convertible!
