Offered for your consideration is a much loved and cared for 1964 Volkswagen Beetle in superb condition throughout. Most of the Beetles we see today are in an altered or modified condition. If you are like us you will appreciate the originality of this little darling. It is still a 6 volt electrical system with the original Blaupunkt radio. The radio speaker is the original Blaupunkt as well. It works well but being the original speaker, fidelity is is not perfect. The original engine (# 8462897) is in excellent running condition. Due to a long time in dry storage it recently received a major service including but not limited to, fuel tank replacement, rebuilt carburetor and the brake system was rebuilt as needed. A close inspection reveals no accidents and only painted once since new. Yes, it has always been a black car. The pans, heater channels and heater boxes are in very good to excellent condition. A professional repair was made on the battery box area at one time. The doors do not sag, hood and trunk hinges work like new. Please note that this is a mostly original car and not a trailer queen. In our opinion it wouldn't take much take much to take the car to the that level though. It is, however, a very nice, original forty eight year old car with a few scratches and imperfections. The bumpers and hub caps are original to the car and the new owner may want to replace them due to surface rust but we like things original. Reproductions are readily available. Documentation includes owners manual, a first edition 40 h.p. workshop manual, an original book of VW distributors and dealers and an unused vintage VW postcard printed in Germany.
