1973 VOLKSWAGEN TRANSPORTER Bus/Vanagon CAMPER 1 OWNER, AUTOMATIC! SHARP!! This is a rare 1973 VW bus Automatic transmission !!! I have never seen another VW Camper Bus with an automatic transmission. They are very rare, it was a big option back in the days, It's quite a novelty and it is just one of the many aspects of this VW Bus that is unique and interesting. Owned and loved by the same owner for 39 years!!! All its life!! He had to let it go for an RV I sold him, there ‘re lots of memories that come/go with this VW, one of them being the starting of Legendary Ron Jon Surf Shop in Florida!!! (the decal wraps are removable … in case you don’t want them) ! Shows 55900 miles (he only used it to go surfing)!! Drives perfect!! Transmission shifts smooth, and it has plenty of pickup. It has thousands of $$ invested in it, and it turns heads!! A surfer’s dream, and not only for surfers, He was using it as his weekly Beach cruiser. Brand new 1.7L engine was put in it about 1000 miles ago!!! ($4600 receipt) Interior is redone ($3000), Paint ($2000), All ball joints, brakes, tie rods… belts hoses, gaskets, battery…. You name it …were all replaced!! NEW DUAL Carburetors!!! Oil cooler, Seat Belts, Logic- Pioneer Sound with remote, Tires are very good, All lights, horn, windows etc… workBench converts to full rear bed, has the foldable table, lots of room, lots of storage room too. Has a nice Bike rack, and also SURF racks on top. You can use it as a Camper, for Surfing, or just to show off with it !! He also gave me a SWAMP cooler that is 1950 technology to cool you off if you need to !!! ; I am including it with it. I don’t know much about these beautiful automobiles, but this one never saw a winter, no rust, looks sharper than most I have seen. Please see the pictures, What you see is what it is, keep in mind this beautyis a 40 yrs old, it looks much younger that it is, but it might have imperfections in/out – just want to cover my grounds here. I tried to take pictures of every inch of it. As you can see it looks better than many 4 yrs old cars out there, Don’t let it slip away, and don’t buy a RUST BUCKET just because you find it cheaper!!
