Ladies and gentlemen, you are bidding on a 2003 Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG. I should truly stop right there and let you bid, but I will go on to tell those "not in the know" what this automobile is truly all about. First and foremost AMG starts with the flagship Mercedes model and then proceeds to make it much, much better. With this vehicle, you can have your cake and eat it too so to speak. This vehicle allows you to drive in all of the comfort and luxury you expect from a S-class Mercedes, but it gives you the performance of a sports car. The 5.4 liter supercharged power plant is entirely hand assembled by one technician in AMG's facility and then signed. This engine is just a amazing piece of engineering. This power plant produces an amazing 493hp. and 516 ft.lbs. Mercedes then mates this beast to their 5 speed automatic with multiple personalities. You have the option of comfort mode which is just that, sport mode which firms up and speeds up the shifts, or you can have manual mode which allows you to shift via tiptronic buttons on the steering wheel or by bumping the shifter. The straight line performance of this vehicle is absolutely astonishing for a big four door sedan with all of the luxury trimmings. 0-60 takes just 4.6 seconds and the 1/4 mile has come and gone in just 14. The performance upgrades don't just stop there though. The suspension has been beefed up to allow the big sedan to go around corners as well. Now don't get me wrong, this car is no 911 in the bends, but its pretty darned good for the size car. This vehicle also gets massive 6 piston calipers in the front and 4 piston calipers in the rear which clamp massive drilled rotors. Needless to say this vehicle certainly has the whoa to match the go. The last of the AMG upgrades consists of a free flow dual exhaust that makes the most exquisite sound when you are hard on the throttle. Of course you also get all of the AMG badging to let the unassuming corvette or non turbo 911 know that he probably doesn't want to mess with the big benz. I could go on forever about the performance of this car, but I think you get the idea. Now on to the luxury part the Mercedes is so good at. This vehicle has gorgeous black perforated leather interior tastefully adorned with real wood trim (no plastic look alike here). The vehicle comes with power memory seats, heated seats, air conditioned seats, dynamic seats that inflate or deflate the side bolsters in response to lateral G's for when you want to drive hard and massaging seats for when you want to relax. This vehicle also has Mercedes-Benz Parktronic system to assist you in parallel parking, power tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power operated trunk lid, two-way sunroof, rain sensing wipers so you never have to adjust the speed of the wipers, factory navigation system (do not have the disc), and dual zone heating and air conditioning. Long story made short you get the best of both worlds with this vehicle. You have plenty of room for your family to comfortably travel in and you have sports car performance when you want it.Now on to the bottom line: MSRP on this vehicle was just slightly north of $100,000 in 2003. This vehicle has already done the majority of its depreciation. Now you can buy this vehicle for a fraction of its original price, have just as much fun and not loose your tail when you go to re-sale or trade. I recently took this vehicle to my local Mercedes-Benz dealer and had the most recent service done, so you should be good on service for about the next 9,000 miles or so. While I was there I has them perform a complete inspection on the vehicle. The vehicle has one malfunctioning parktronic sensor in the right front, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The vehicle has one bad tire pressure monitor, hence the message on the odometer in the video. To repair both of these items was a quote of about $400. The only other little things with the car are cosmetic. One of the wheel centers is missing the chrome star (these sell for about $30 a piece at the Mercedes Dealer) and it has one small tare in the leather on the bottom of the rear armrest. My leather repair guy says he can repair that for less than $100. In short, this car would be a 9.5 out of a 10 for another $5-600. These are all just minor things that the previous owner never got around to fixing. One last thing that I meant to mention, This vehicle also had the supercharger clutch repair kit completed less than 500 miles ago which is sort of a major repair that is common around 80-100,000 miles on the 55 amg engines.
