Here is an interesting 1964 Ford Galaxy 500XL Hardtop Fastback. The car's powertrain is as delivered from dealer. The car has 34,230 gaurenteed miles on it. It was originally purchased new from Babylon Ford in West Islip. NY. It was bought and owned by a grandmother until she was in her 90's. Her grandson inherited the car. The car has been stored in a garage and hasn't been on the road in over 20 years. It has been driven around the yard, but will need brake and fuel work before being put on the road. The transmission seems fine. The oil stickers indicate 34,230.I've been assured by the grandson the mileage is correct. The axle ratio is 3.00:1. With this equipment the car will make a great driving car. Originally built on April 28, 1964 the color is "Raven Black" with a black deluxe interior. In 1964, this Fastback model was the lowest production model with the exception of the deluxe model with standard plush bucket seats, console with floor shift. standard with V-8 engine, and full spinner wheel covers. The interior of the car is quite nice. The carpets and seats are quite presentable. The console and dash are perfect. There are no cracks or fading from the sun. All original gauges work. The radio works fine. The front seats are good with the exception of some bad stitching. The back seats are as if unused. The body on the car is very straight and has its original paint. The doors and rockers are good, and shine. There are small holes in the bottoms of the front fenders. These appear to be from winter buildup. The rear quarter panels need replacing about half way up the wheels on both sides of the vehicle.The trunk area and floors are good. All chrome is on the car and is not rusted. The tires are tired.
