Vehicle Detail
Here is a great 1953 Buick Special, it's of course not a Skylark... I had to either use the -Skylark- heading or the -Other- heading as there isn't one for 1953 Buick Special. This car just came out of a bone dry barn in Wheatfield Indiana. Lawrence bought it in 1985 and over the next 25+ years he drove it on sunny days and sunday drives only. It was his baby. Just installed... new gas tank, all new brake lines, new voltage regulator, oil change, grease job, rear differential service, gearbox flush and fill, new points and condensor, correct 6 volt battery and new anti-freeze. I carefully cleaned, gapped and reinstalled the original spark plugs and it started up perfectly. You turn the (original) key to run, press the gas pedal and Big Red purrs to life, effortlessly with no smoke whatsoever.. the engine runs very strong and tight. The clutch is excellent and the car just floats down the road like a dream. I am a purest when it comes to cars like this and personally like to keep them as original as possible. The gauges work, the speedometer works, headlights and blinkers work, all the windows, doors, trunk lid and hood open and close corectly and solid. The headliner needs to be replaced if you wish, the hood orniment is missing the center rocket.. hood orniment not broken just missing the center, the pass side door glass has a crack but is original and works perfect, the clock and the radio don't work.. missing one knob on the radio. I have not looked at fiddled with or attempted to fix any of these items. This is a solid and complete car and is a joy to drive and be seen in. There is no armor all on anything, the engine bay hasn't been washed or painted, there is no undercoating sprayed on anything, it doesn't have a CD player, This is a mans car.... from a time when men were men and took pride in the work they did. I will be happy to answer any questions. Clean, clear title in hand. Thank You
