Vehicle Detail
Looking to get from point A to point B every time with a bargain priced car? This is the one. We bought this in December and promptly dumped $800 into it at Mercedes Benz of Beverly Hills, fixing a variety of things including the fuel gauge, a fuel leak, replacing all the belts, etc. The car runs great and I would feel safe driving it cross-country. It has solid brakes, drives straight and has plenty of pick-up to zip through Los Angeles traffic. The power sunroof works great! Here is what doesn't work: The odometer. I do not know how many miles are on it. The radio isn't great; I'd replace it if I were keeping it. The power lock on the driver's side is frozen. You have to lock it on the passenger side. The rear left power window is not working and is currently stuck mostly down. The heat does not work and I'm told it would be expensive to fix (at the dealership: you might be able to fix it for $50 if you're mechanical). The a/c works a little bit. It leaks coolant. The interior of the driver's side rear door is trashed. It takes 2 people (well, if you're wimpy girls) to push the driver's seat back to the "short person" position, which is a real pain when you are a short person with a tall person fiance who forgets to put it back. I have never tried the cruise control but would be shocked if it still worked. The wipers are sluggish but still working. It has a scrape on the driver's side toward the back and the previous owner definitely sucked at backing up, and it needs paint! But running-wise, it has not given me even a hint of trouble. I am just being a whiner and want another car with a power seat and a heater that works, so this perfectly reliable piece of good German engineering can be yours. Best part: I JUST SMOGGED IT and it passed! So you don't have to smog again for TWO YEARS. Plates are good through February 2013! DISCLAIMER: I am a very non-mechanical girl. This car could have something wrong that I don't know about and therefore cannot disclose. I have described it as honestly as I can. The car is sold as is, with no warranties expressed or implied.
