Vehicle Detail
THIS IS A SHORT 3 DAY SALE AND IT IS NOT REQUIRED BUT IS A PREFERENCE IF YOU CAN COME PICK IT UP ASAP, (MAYBE EVEN THE SAME NIGHT THE SALE CLOSES???) AS SOON AS YOU PAY THE $100 DEPOSIT BY PAYPAL THEN I'LL MESSAGE YOU MY PHONE NUMBER. ALL THIS COULD TAKE AS LITTLE AS 2 MINUTES. . . BUT IT REALLY IS OK IF YOU REQUIRE SOME TIME, I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW MY PREFERRENCE. I ALMOST SOLD THIS TO A SCRAP YARD FOR $200, BUT THEN WE GOT THE ENGINE STARTED MONDAY. YOU ARE BUYING A 1994 Toyota Tercel that Runs and Drives and may need some work, its been sitting almost 2 years. It has 365K miles on it. Starting at the scrap yard's offer of $200, with NO RESERVE!!!!!!!!!! Car died in Clarksburg in the fall of 2010 and AAA towed it to my home where it has sat untouched ever since. I have been driving my other car and never even had this looked at till Monday this week! (4-16-2012) The shop in town replaced a battery terminal and it started right up! But it had engine noise when it started which could have been because the block was 100% dry from sitting so long. The mechanic said the noise lasted only a few seconds and it may have just been bone dry, but he said it could also be a problem. It was out of gas so the shop didn't drive it around to test it. I drove it home 2.2 miles yesterday, 4/17/2012, and other than the first few seconds after it started, (yes it was also noisy and this was the second time it was started in the last year and a half) the only noise I had was at high RPM, it ran very smooth at low RMP. (Like I was driving 30 mph in 4th gear and it was quiet, but at 30 mph in 2nd gear there was an engine noise, this is the higher RPM niose I am trying to tell you about.) I am not knowledgable enough to know the difference between a "ping" and a "knock". All I know is that whatever noise I heard from the engine was only there part of the time, only while the engine was at high RPM's. It is an old car, with 365K miles on it, probably not reliable, but it does certianly run and drive! I CAN NOT TELL YOU IF IT IS GOING TO RUN FOR 3 MORE MINUTES OR FOR 3 MORE YEARS SO DON'T ASK ME! I AM TELLING YOU EVERYTHING I KNOW! YOU DECIDE, AND YOU BID ACCORDINGLY! HONESTLY- SERIOUSLY- I'M NOT A MECHANIC AND I DON'T KNOW!!!! And I have even told you everything that my mechanic told me: It might be fine, it might not be fine! You MIGHT be able to drive this home, especially if you live close. But to be sure I have to recommend that it's towed. Also because of safety issues; it has no current registration or insurance. I do have a completely clear California title in my name which I will sign over when you pick up the car. The exterior is dented and faded, and the interior is heavily torn up, but it is a Florida/California car and has NO RUST so the body is completely sound! It gets exxcellent gas mileage, I used to drive it to Chicago from here and at $4 a gallon it cost about $100 for the round trip! It will go from Salem WV to INDIANAPPOLIS on under 10 gallons. (I would fill the tank here for $40, refill the tank with only $25 in Indianappolis, and make it up to North Chicago on that.) Also the manual transmission seems rock solid. It also has good brakes and tires. The emergency brake does not work, and the driver's window crank is stripped, and it has no car radio. The car was new in Florida and was driven extensively back and forth to California for about 10 years. Then it was sold in California and had the engine rebuilt about 45,000 miles back. (It made it past 300K on the first engine.) Then in 2008 I bought it in California myself, and drove it here to Salem WV in 2009 and it remained my daily driver till is died in 2010 on the freeway. I assumed for a long time that the engine blew, but obviously not as the shop discovered when it started up on Monday. THIS IS SOLD AS IS / WHERE AS / ALL SALES FINAL! SO BUY ACCORDINGLY! YOU CAN PICK THIS UP IN SALEM AS EARLY AS SATURDAY EVENING AFTER THE BID CLOSES! IN FACT I PREFER IT THAT WAY IF POSSIBLE, IM ON VACATION ALL NEXT WEEK AND I'LD RATHER HAVE IT NOW THAN AFTER I GET BACK! I'LL NEED $100 PAYPAL DEPOSIT BEFORE WE MEET AND THE BALLANCE IN CASH ON DELIVERY.
