1996 FORD EXPLORER WHITEHOMELAND SECURITY CAR This car is one that no one would be ashamed tobe seen in. For people, who do not knowstyles and models, they think it is a garage maintained3 - 4 year old car. NEVER PARKED IN PUBLIC PARKING LOTnot a ding anywhere, no rust anywhereonly driven about 2500 miles in Michigan RECENTLY ADDED SUN ROOF ENGINE STRONG TRANSMISSION - SHIFTS INTO LOWER GEAR, BUT YOU MUST LEAVE FOOT OFF GAS FOR IT TO SHIFT. IT IS NOT THE SOLENOID (SINCE IT SHIFTS) IT IS NOT THE SENSOR (SINCE IT SHIFTS)THIS CAR SAT FOR 6 YEARS AFTER BEING BROUGHT UP FROM FLORIDA, AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD MOST LIKELY THAT THERE IS A STICKY MECHANICAL LINKAGE -- was told to spray with lube, will do this, and if it ships, will remove these notes. HAS NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM, SINCE IT ALWAYS SHIFTS (WILL SHIFT AT HIGHER SPEEDS, BUT BEST TO LET FOOT OFF GAS AND SHIFT AT THE PROPER SPEED) WILL WARRANTY ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION FOR 90 DAYS MAY BE RETURNED AFTER 7 DAYS, BUYER PAYS SHIPPING BOTH WAYS $500 DEPOSIT WITH 24 HOURS AFTER PURCHASE. This vehicle sat for six years in Michigan, registered each year, but never driven, since it did not have brakes. The brakes are new and were about $650, installed. The odometer cable has apparently come loose, and no longer registers. It registered for about 250 miles after brakes were put in and vehicle started getting driven. Has had about 3000 miles put on since the odometer stopped working. It is offered locally in Craigslist at a fixed price, and at present it looks like it will sell there -- five people have asked to come see it, but I have not done so until I get the oil, transmission, and radiator fluids changed.
