Here is an absolutely drop dead gorgeous 1962 Scout 80 in fully restored condition inside and out. This is one of the neatest 4x4s I have ever seen and it is still in gorgeous condition today. The history on this Scout is very interesting and really ads a neatness factor to this particular truck. It was bought new in 1962 by Mr. Richard Clow who was an International truck dealer here in Arizona. The truck was bought new at Eloy Motors in Redwood City, CA. I am not sure how much time it was in California but has been in AZ since the late 80s. Mr Clow kept a full service and mileage log until the mid 1990s when he put it into storage. I have inspected the body and can not find any obvious rust or repair patches whatsoever. The Scout has lived its life in dry Arizona and has always been well cared for. The paint on the Scout is Poppy Red, which is a bit more orange than original Red and looks really nice. The Jeep has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock as an western car should be. The car is riding on 15" wheels with brand new 15" Good Year Tires which really give this little jeep an aggressive look, just like your Tonka toys when you were a kid! The interior is in great shape all around. The dash and door windshield are in very nice condition and the glass is chip free. The seats are all brand new and look very nice. All dials and controls function as they should and are illuminated at night. All of the latches and hardware were nicely painted bringing the attention to detail to the inside as well as out. Everything in the cab works including the heater and windshield wipers! The Scout also includes its guillotine style windows and frames. Mechanically, this truck runs GREAT! The Scout starts right up and shifts quite easily. The truck shifts easily and tracks down the road straight. You can see by the meticulous records that this truck was always well maintained. I just did a cosmetic clean-up under the hood and everything looks clean and original. All in all, this is one nice early International Scout.
