Here's another great NO Reserve auction from C&J Auto. This truck is going to sell at the end of this auction. Up for bid we have this 2004 Ford F550 Crew Cab,.4X4, Powerstroke Dually. It is being sold as a repairable project. Here's the main issue. The truck will fire right up and run fine for probably 10-20 minutes and shut itself off. I can usually get it to start immediately again right after that. ??? I have been told this is an EGR cooler/ injector related issue and they (the shop) want 3-4 grand to fix this truck. I do not want to invest that kind of money into it, so here may be a great deal for someone who really knows these 6.0 liter trucks. What I THINK I can safely tell you about this engine: (1) It does not have any lower end bearing issues such as knocking, blue smoke, or strange noises). (2) It doesn't make any milkshakes in the pan with antifreeze and oil. (3) It isn't mixing Diesel fuel with Antifreeze. (4) I think it runs too smoothly at times to have a dead cylender, so Probably all the valves and rings are sealing correctly. (5) It's not leaking oil externally anywhere that I can see on my driveway. (6) Eight injectors are expensive, labor is expensive, and most shops will only do all 8 at a time. The truck only has 166K miles on it, and it shouldn't be completely worn out yet. This thing has springs and axles under it that would choke an elephant. This is all I can tell you about the truck as I have ZERO experience with these engines. We usually buy and sell 7.3 Diesels. If you can figure this thing out, you will have the stoutest 4x4 truck on the block for pretty cheap. This crewcab is loaded with XLT options. The tires are all fair to poor with maybe a good one thrown in just for measure. They say regrooveable. The transmission shifts great. The 4x4 works fine as well. This is a project truck for someone who knows what they're doing and has the tools and experience or money to do it right. Please pass on this truck if you aren't up for the work or challenge, because I value my feedback here on Ebay and am not trying to mislead anyone. I don't want anyone having buyer's remorse because this may be too much of a project and leaving me bad feedback because of that. It's a project. Buy it knowing it's a project. Fix it like it's a keeper and enjoy it for the next 200K miles! Since I am only human, there's a real good chance I've missed stuff. I highly encourage inspections on all vehicles offered, either in person, or by a hired professional. There are many different companies that specialize in doing nothing but that. They generally charge between $100-$175 and may truly be a bargain to give you piece of mind and any additional info you may need. The vehicle will be made available for inspection by appointment. If you decide to forego the inspection, there really is no reason you should be unhappy about anything after the auction has ended. Most of our vehicles are generally purchased at dealer only auctions for the sole purpose of resale. We sell these vehicles FAR below any dealer retail prices. This gives you room for any additional repairs that you see fit. They have not undergone ANY type of inspections/ or tests for ANYTHING. This includes emmissions and safety inspections. We cannot guarantee compliance of the vehicle for your state, because every state has different requirements as far as safety and emissions inspections are concerned. In conclusion, it is ULTIMATELY the buyer's responsibility to have fully satisfied themselves as to the overall condition of the vehicle. Titles: We are a licenced bonded, and insured Colorado motor vehicle dealer. All vehicles that we purchase and offer for resale have a clear Title. (meaning no lienholders). We do NOT knowingly deal in any vehicles with salvage title histories, period. The State of Colorado, along with many other states, automatically exempt the recorded mileage on the title for any vehicle over ten years old, and over 100,000 miles. Therefore, on these vehicles, the titles will simply be "exempted miles" and have a "0" indicated for odometer reading. That does not mean the mileage is unknown, or that it has been tampered with, it simply means they (The State), are no longer keeping track of the mileage. We also occasionally need to title these vehicles in our business' name if they are from out of state and do not have room for any further reassignments.
