Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very nice 1996 Saab 900S convertible. The Saab 900 is a great car. I have personally owned several. I would rate the exterior condition of this Saab 900 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition for the age and mileage of the vehicle. As you can see, this is a great looking car. It was very dirty in the photos, my apologies for that. The black finish on this car has a mile deep shine that looks great from any angle. Aside from a few typical imperfections on the bumpers from normal use, this Saab is in incredibly good condition. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The alloy wheels look good and are wrapped in nice rubber all around. The convertible top appears to be in excellent condition in and out. I would also rate the interior condition of this Saab 900 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets show well throughout the interior of this car. The trunk space is respectible for a convertible and can be increased to full size when the top is up. The leather seats all show extremely well for an older car...especially a convertible. They are soft and supple throughout and very comfortable. Both front seats are heated. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work properly. Pride in ownership shows throughout this car. It comes with the original floor mats, the original owners books and a complete set of keys (2x keys, 2x remotes). The stereo system is the original factory Saab system with radio and cassette up front and a CD changer in the trunk. The climate control system appears to be working properly. The air conditioner blows ice cold air! Mechanically, this Saab 900 appears to be in good running condition. The famous 2.3L engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not see any leaks coming from this car and the engine does not smoke. Driving this car is an absolute pleasure. The suspension, steering and brakes all feel great. The engine is very responsive and makes highway cruising effortless. Out on the highway, she cruises strait as an arrow at 80mph with no complaints. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. There were no warning lights on. The only thing this car will need machanically is a muffler. *****************PLEASE READ************PLEASE READ***************** When I purchased this car, the first thing I did was put the top down for the ride home. I drove it with the top down all day. It went down on its own with no trouble. When the sun went down, I put the top up. It went up, no problem but the boot would not close. I put it back down and went to try again...it came up but still would not lower the back portion of the top onto the boot. There is a provision for manual operation of the top in these cars. I pulled the lever to disengage the motor to the top and lowered the back manually. That was the last time the top moved for me. When you press the button, the windows all lower like they should but they go down intermittantly like there is a bad connection in the switch. Once you finally get the windows down, the top is unresponsive. I know for a fact that the top works because I had it up and down a few times but something is obviously wrong with it.
