This 1940 Ford Delux Coupe had 28000 original miles when modified by Reggie Jack of Tuscon Arizona 3 years ago. It is an original, absolutely rust free, all steel car with no patch panels ever. The car was repainted it's original color, cloud mist grey. It has a TCI Mustang independent front end, with rack and pinon steering, 2" drop spindles, tubular upper & lower A arms with 11" rotars & GM calipers, Corvette master cylinder & power brakes. The rear is a 9" Ford with a paralell leaf spring kit & 3.50 gears. Tires are Firestone Delux Champion, 4.50 x 16 up front & 6.70 x 16 in the rear, on hand pinstriped OEM style 16 x 4.5 in front & 16 x 7 stell rims with 1946 caps & trim rings. The engine is a 1955 Chrysler Hemi 331 bored to 354 cubic inches. It has 4 bolt mains, aluminum rods & forged pistons. The cam is an Iskanderian 270 hydraulic, .465 lift. The heads are raised port "555" castings with stainless steel valves by Hot Heads, who also supplied the timing cover, valley cover, aluminum pullies, Accel electronic distributor & Weiand intake manifold with dual Edelbrock four barrel carburetors. The water pump is Big Block Chevrolet. Alternator is 100 amp GM. The radiator is from Brassworks. The engine has lots of chrome & polished aluminum. Air conditioning is by Southern Air & blows cold. The transmission is a 700R4 GM with overdrive, also completely rebuilt using a trans adapter from Hot Heads. The starter is high torque. An EZ wire harness was used. The paint has a few thin spots & a bit of patina here & there, giving it character. It is very presentable. The interior has a glide seat done in rolled & pleated leather while the rest of the interior is done in matching naugahyde. The dashboard & window mouldings still have there original paint. The steering column is by Ididit with a 15" 1940 Ford Delux Wheel. The battery is a new Optima " Red Top" with a 1/0 welding wire cables. The AM/FM/ Casette stero system is by Sony, with a remote & a Sony 10 CD changer in trunk. The car is very clean, tight & runs cool. It has only 3800 miles since built.
