Vehicle Detail

Hello. This is a one owner family vehicle. It's lived it's entire life in Central California, away from salty roads that spawn rust like other parts of America. From all the paperwork and records, it has only 43,000 miles on it. It's pretty darn clean for being 33 years old. It was a tow buddy to an RV for most of its life so the actual mileage may even be lower. There is also a very slight chance that it has 143,000 instead but probably not after you see the paperwork we have. Clean title. It was put on a planned non operation (PNO) in 2005 when the original owner passed away (my wife's Mother's Uncle) but signed over to our parents and given to us. We kept starting it and running it but part of these years. California DMV does not charge back registration since we put it on a PNO. Last sticker is 2006 and last "passed" smog was required right before this (2005, we have the State Paperwork with stats). As a buyer, you will have to assume responsibility to pay any related costs related to get it to smog. If we do all this stuff, we will be selling it for more. Right now, it has trouble staying running. No fuel is getting to the carb. It has a brand new fuel pump but there must be a clog before fuel pump, we're working on solving this. Spraying starter spray gets it running. It just got a major tune up with zero miles accrued since: Cap, Rotor, Spark Plugs, Spark Plug Wires, Oil Change, Oil Filter, Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Fuel Pump, Coolant flush, and windshield wiper blade inserts (not made any more... in trunk area). Personally having restored my Dad's old 66 Ford Mustang, I can assure you this is an oldie but goodie that has ALL ORIGINAL parts on it and could be a great commuter OR a perfect starting point for a light and probably somewhat inexpensive total restore project. It even has the battery hold down with the clamps on it to hold the original windshield wiper bag that is also present among many things (radio still works, cigarette lighter & ash tray still present, stick shift boots, seat belts, all buttons etc.) The body is super straight and all original too so you know there are not any hidden surprises (including original paint and interior). Very minimal rust that is still in early stages (mostly on things that might have never had a chance due to location). All the fenders/body panels you will clearly be able to identify as original (factory stickers). The hazy white shadow you see on the paint is actually the clear coat pealing off. The paint actually still has life and might be able to be waxed/polished and kept but the clear coat will continue to peel away. I have this issue on my Toyota 4 runner. The holes on the front bumper was from a tow ball that was used to push a boat/RV into its spot as well as the tow bar holes. I will include the tow bar (1 7/8 ball/hitch needed on your car) so you can tow it if you wish. Damage to one seat as shown in photo and the carpet is basically shot (seems like it was cheap/thin to begin with). I found the original molded carpet & color for $115 herehttp://www.carparts.com/results/?Ntt=NEwf33b2021840&searchType=global&N=0&uts=true) What else? Original license plates. Average registration annually in CA is about $85. All tires are still in great, maybe 65-70% remaining (new 5th spare tire in back trunk area). Condition of all else is kind of unknown at this point. We're told it gets between 40-50 mpg. Me (the seller) just went and picked this up from my wife's parents and towed it perfectly down here to San Diego (450 miles) with no issues. I am selling this for them as they live in a small town outside Yosemite. We don't really want to poor a bunch of money into this OR change it's condition any to hide blemishes. So what you see is kind of what you get (we thought this was nicer than choosing a color and slapping a cheap paint job on it to make it look nicer). If it was totally perfect, you would also be paying a lot more. Reply with "questions" if you have any. Please be very specific and know that I will be making them PUBLIC for all to see. We do have more photos on FLICKR, just ask.
