Vehicle Detail

My 1970 GTX 440, 4 speed, track pac (3.54). What started as a "I'll fix it up and sell it" project, turned into a 32 year(!) labor of love. The car is originally from Georgia, and still has the Georgia State Inspection sticker dated 1978 in the lower corner of the windshield. I purchased the car locally in early 1980 with everything being original, with the exception of the engine, and aftermarket wheels. The car sat covered in my climate controlled garage for 5 years till April of 1985, when a friend and I performed an exterior restoration on it. Dents, dings, scrapes were all straightened/repaired, and the small rust holes in the dutchman panel/window channel area were cut out, patched and "leaded", and the vehicle was repainted in it's original EF8 Ivy green, and the hood stripes repainted. Then it sat for another 9 years before I even rubbed/buffed the paint! Legendary seat covers, ACC carpet, and a new headliner were added, original bumpers replated, 833 trans rebuilt, original 26" rad recored, reflective side stripes installed, and a set of original 15X7 rally wheels were added. After walking endless swap meets over the years searching for/installing parts, and untold $ later, this is what I have now. It's been a great car, and fun driver over the years for my family and I, and has never failed me, but it's time for a new owner. I have the build sheet, the fender tag is in place, and Michigan title in hand. Listed below are the tag codes, as well as the 'good', and 'bad' aspects of the vehicle as I know them. Sorry, I am NOT interested in trades. I already have a nice E body, and a Harley. The sale includes every spare & original removed part I have for it, and a quality monogrammed ("1970 GTX") car cover. The Good: - Original sheet metal, with the exception of the trunk floor, is all in excellent shape. This includes quarters, trunk extensions, floors, fenders, doors, underhood, hinge area, hood, deck lid, etc. - Interior, dash pad, glass, headliner, and all trim in excellent shape. No cracks, rips, tears, etc. - 833 4 speed trans, and Dana (3.54 track pac) numbers match- Lots of new/upgraded parts including: - Centerforce clutch. - Praise Dyno brake shoes. New SS brake lines and hoses (front) - Eddy Performer RPM intake and 750 carb. - Complete NOM engine rebuild @ 35K. No mechanical issues. - K&N Extreme air cleaner. - Exhaust manifolds are Extrude Honed. - New mufflers (DynoMax) in 2011. Rest of exhaust is ORIGINAL, including tips. New battery. - Everything works except the clock, and washer pump. Aftermarket water temp and oil pressure gauges added by previous owner. - Lots of spare, and removed original parts (intake, carb, air cleaner, etc.) - Runs cool even in the Woodward Dream Cruise type traffic. 195 F max. all day. You can jump in, and drive this car anywhere. The Bad: - Trunk floor is scaly with small holes, and should be replaced. This is the ONLY place on the vehicle with any rust. - Some chips, door dings, and minor scrapes/scratches are present. - A couple mouldings are dented (replacements included). - Tic Toc tach is erratic. - Paint still is great overall, but not perfect. - Vinyl top is perfect, but material is incorrect in both type of grain, and color. (correct original green material included). - Wiring is original and should be replaced. Reproduction Year One (M&H) harnesses included. - The BFG tires are in great shape, BUT... are 70's vintage. Nuff said. - Odo shows 38K, and judging from the overall condition, it could be correct, but not knowing the previous owners, I CANNOT verify mileage is actual. The odo showed 26K when I bought it in 1980.
