For sale is my restored 1965 Volkswagen Beetle. This car has always been 100% rust free. I purchased it from the original owner in Texas where the car spent its entire life - i have detailed service records from day one. I have put around 8000 miles on the vehicle since performing a body off restoration on it about 5 years ago -the speedometer was professionally rebuilt and reset to 0 during the restoration. Actual miles before the restoration were around 100k. Since the restoration, this car has only been driven on nice days and stored in a climate controlled garage. The restoration involved acid dipping the chassis then having it e-coated (similar to powder coating, but better. The entire chassis is electrically charged then dipped in a tank of the coating). The body was professionally prepped and painted dove blue. Everything was reassembled using stainless steel nuts and bolts. Body and chassis numbers match. The transmission is a pro street freeway flier built by Rancho in California with a Kennedy clutch (see image of receipt). The Motor is a 1915CC built by Strictly Foreign in Oregon (see image of receipt), with dual 40mm carburetors, flamethrower distributor/coil, MSD wires, genuine A1 muffler, CB deep sump w/filter, thermostatic cooling fan located under the package tray, and a new Bosch alternator. The interior is all new, featuring a hidden stereo in the glove box with an electric antenna attached to the windshield behind the rear view mirror, uncut dash (the tachometer is mounted using the cigarette lighter hole), and Lecarra steering wheel -the original is included. The front end is all rebuilt or new featuring CB drop spindles, new TRW steering box, disc brakes, new dual circuit master cylinder, sway bar, and an adjustable beam. The rear is all new or rebuilt featuring '67 long axles, lowered 1 notch, new brakes, and new shocks. The wheels are professionally restored original Porsche Fuchs -including the spare, with new tires. The electrical system has been upgraded to 12 volts with an all new wiring harness. This car is only driven on nice summer days so i did not install all of the heating components, and since taking it out of storage this season i noticed a minor front end shimmy -i think a wheel weight may have fallen off, i will take the tires in to be balanced. I have all receipts (around $20,000.00 worth!) and pictures from the restoration. I am sure there is a lot i forgot to list about this awesome car -it has won first place in every show entered! I do not want to let this car go, but i just purchased a 1960 beetle that i am going to restore, and i could use the space and money. Please call 269-350-8919 or e-mail for more info.
