1996 Saturn SL2, twin cam engine, automatic trans, power door locks, factory remote keyless entry/alarm, completely rebuilt engine (at 163k miles). Currently the car has 215k miles on the odometer. Inexpensive alternative to a new car, that gets great gas mileage (verified 32 mpg in mixed city/highway driving). Condition is fairly good for a 1996 with the mileage. I have taken pics of all of the angles where there is a scuff, or clearcoat is starting to peel. This isn't a perfect cosmetic condition car, but isn't too bad either. At 163k I pulled and completely rebuilt the engine, including having the head worked. All Saturn S-series engines have a known issue with rings sticking somewhere in the 120k-160k mile range. The only fix for this to tear down the motor and rebuild (on this engine the issue has been permanently fixed). I only know of one potential issue with the vehicle, the exhaust (replaced about 2 years ago) is questionable if it would pass inspection. Replacement takes about 20 minutes and three bolts. All maintenance was conducted at required intervals, including trans fluid changes. Everything on the vehicle is 100% functional, including the A/C. Engine fires, runs and idles very smoothly. The interior shows the age of the vehicle, but is clean. Carpeting is worn in the front passenger side. The headliner is intact, but does have blemishes. The rear seat has a 60/40 split, which folds down to give fairly good cargo room passing through from the trunk.
