The Marti report on this car states that it is 1 of 141 SCJ, 4 speed, 4.30 drag pack cars made in 1970. You won't find another Cobra like this one. It is nearly completely original, has been well maintained, and only has 31,700 actual miles. It is all numbers matching and I can furnish pictures of all visible codes and stampings upon request. Before I purchased the car, I contacted the first 2 owners prior to purchasing it from the 3rd owner. The car was originally delivered at Downtown Motors to Bobby E. of Canton, OH and he owned it for 16 years. He sold it to a friend, Richard S. who lived down the street from him and he owned the car from 1986 to 2007. The third owner, John H. hailed from Cape Cod and kept it 4 years. Most of its life was spent in a garage and the 2nd owner had the chassis completely sprayed with cosmolene. As such, this is a rust free car. It's Medium Red paint is all original except for a touch up in the Cobra decal areas to eliminate rock chips. Otherwise the lacquer paint is holding up quite well. The interior is finished in black and is all original. I and the previous owner have only hand washed this car with a damp rag so water doesn't find its way into potential rust areas. I have title history from the car's beginning, original window sticker, warranty plate, factory build sheet, owners manual, and 3 Marti reports that fully document the authenticity of this Cobra. The window sticker shows the following options: SCJ engine, 4.30 drag pack, high back buckets, white letter F60-15 tires (the original spare is in the trunk), power steering, power front disc brakes, AM radio, and Magnum 500 chrome wheels. The car is 1 of 1 as equipped. A lot of sellers claim their car is the best in the country and I am making the same claim. I just don't think you'll find another un-restored, 31,000 mile original Cobra like this one anywhere. Everything on the car works as it should and needs nothing at this time. Recent maintenance includes a rebuild on the Hurst shifter, rebuilt power steering cylinder, alignment, carb overhaul, and new heater hoses and correct tower clamps. The original Holley 780 is still sitting on top this 429SCJ as well as the engine oil cooler with its born with tags. It's all there! I'm selling the car because I'm now retired and need to thin the herd.
