Vehicle Detail
1965 Ford Mustang..... I have owned this car for more than 12 years; was a project for me. I really hate to sell it but....wife says I have too many toys. I will give you the good, bad and the ugly as I describe my car in detail to prospective buyers. Originally a 6 cylinder car, converted to a V8, 302, super strong. Leaks oil, from valve covers and possibly rear main seal. Not a show stopper, by any means. 2 BBL Carb, rebuilt 2 years ago. All guages work properly. Radiator reworked several years ago, starting to show signs of wear. No fan shroud on the radiator. Engine super ugly, never has been re-worked, painted or chromed up. Serves my daily driver needs, I just don't show it off. Automatic transmission, shift selector with "the green dot". Tranny shifts smoothly. Leaks transmission fluid, not to the point of requiring rebuild. Was originally a standard shift car; I left the clutch pedal in the car, just in case I wanted to go back with a standard shift powertrain. Clutch is underneath carpet. Dual exhaust, glass packs, 10 inch chrome tube extenders. Has a really deep and throaty sound. Really MANLY. Car doesnt smoke. No heat, no air. No power steering. No power brakes. No radio. Changed 4 lug to 5 lug wheels/spindles. Car has a slight pull to the right while being driven. Major "cosmetic" restoration and many parts were replaced in 2005; car has been parked in garage and covered ever since. This car never sees rain or mud. Interior is excellent condition. Some of the new parts include all interior upholstery (headliner is super tight), new windlace, front seats recovered, upper bench back recovered. New sun visors (brackets and tips), door panels, door handles, door lock knobs and bevels carpet and underlay, new seatbelts, kick panels, inside rear view mirror, outside rear view mirror, new radio antenna, coat hooks, new seat side moldings. Seats function properly, were recovered as part of the restoration (with new foam). One 1 inch seam tear on back bench. All glass is in the car and good. Window mechanisms all work properly and windows roll up an down as they should. Small chip on drivers side of the windshield. Missing one piece of windshield molding on D/S, upper. Painted in 2005, acrylic enamel, the color is Chrome Yellow; in excellent condition. There are no dents in the body, literally no rust. Has 2 small, old spots in the trunk about the size of quarters (see photos). Area around the gas tank is solid, no rust at all. New gas cap. Shock towers are solid. Floor pans were rusted through and repaired with new pans. The previous owner did this; did not cut away the damaged part of the underside, so it looks like it is still bad. This is not the case. Floors are solid. Car has new bumpers front and back, new park light assemblies, new tail lights (complete), new hood molding, back up lamps, new fender emblems, hood lettering, new battery tray. This car has been adult driven, adult maintained. I do not smoke. This car is not perfect, not a show car, not "quirk free". It is a good, heavy, solid car that is an old, good looking DRIVER. Please ask questions, I will answer as best I can. Thanks for looking.
