Vehicle Detail
1972 VW Super Beetle A Little history about the car: I bought it a month ago with the intent of fixing it up but I have to many projects and this one needs to go. The previous owner stated that the engine was rebuilt prior to his purchase; he purchased the car Aug 2011. The car had been painted the metallic purple it is now before he bought it. He pulled the motor when he bought the car for a clutch replacement and never put the engine back in the car. I bought it as is. In the past 4 weeks I have done the following to the car: -Installed new clutch kit -Put the engine back in the car -Resealed the engine with a new gasket set -New Motor and Trans mounts when installed the engine -Full tune up before I reinstalled the engine-Cap, Rotor, Plugs, Points, Condenser, Plug Wires, Oil Screen and Change, Coil, And Fuel Pump -New Brake Drums on the front -Rear drums turned -New brake shoes on all 4 -New wheel cylinders on all 4 -New rear brake lines and hoses -New front wheel bearings -New speedo cable -New wheels studs and nuts on all 4 -Installed Empi GT-8 wheels with polished lip and black center -New Uniroyal tires on the front -Cobra GT tires on the rear-8/32 tread left -Cleaned out the interior -New Steering dampener -New Battery terminals Before I bought the car: -Purple Paint Job -Rebuilt Engine -Rear adjustable coilover shocks -Front adjustable strut housings and new struts -Front strut brace -Seat Covers installed -Empi Gt Dual Tip Exhaust System All of the above listed is what I have done to the car and what I have noticed the po has done at some point in the past. The car itself is probably a 15-footer at the moment. It will run and drive fine but it needs rear wheel bearings installed. The interior also needs to be reinstalled, which I have in boxes. The bumpers have been shaved off and the holes filled. It has some surface rust on the floors and a little hole at the front of the driver's side floor pan but I have the floor pan to replace it. It's not a bad car it just needs a little time to get it back together and you can have a very nice car with the parts I have. Spare Parts That I have: -New Black Headliner Kit -New Black Loop Carpet Kit -Door Panels -Original Steel Wheels and hubcaps -Fiberglass aftermarket whale tail -Spare Engine Hood -Original Empi Ladybug floor mats -Glass for the three rear windows -Rear window seal -Chrome engine dress up kit -Spare gas tank -Spare Transmission -Bumper set with bad chrome on them-would need to be blasted and painted if you would like to install. I do have the mounts -Miscellaneous boxes of little parts: Lights, Gauges, Seat Belts, ETC Please message me if you have any questions Thanks, AndrewOn Mar-28-12 at 14:56:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note, It absolutely needs the driver side rear wheel bearing. It can be driven around the block or two but that is it. I will replace the rear wheel bearings to the buyer of the car for an additional $250 on top of the purchase price. If you do not wish for me to replace the bearings it will need to be towed, or you will need to do them here before driving it any sort of long distance. I have all the tools to do it and will let you use them but you should bring the parts or let me know ahead of time, 3 days in advance and I will get them for you. If I replace the bearings I am doing both sides and also rebuilding the cv axles. The axles will be off to do the bearings So I will do those while they are off. The axles do not need rebuilt at the moment but there is no telling how old those boots are.
