Vehicle Detail

1959 Edsel Ranger, very complete, needs restored. This car was stuck in a barn in the 80s, then brought into the backyard 12 years ago. V8, automatic trans. Pretty much what you see is what you get. The car has just under 80k and the title confirms this. My great-uncle who owned it said the motor was rebuilt around 65 but it has sat for so long that it's probably irrelevant. I could not turn it over with a wrench last week so I towed it to my mechanic and had him squirt Marvel Mystery oil into the cylinders. I'll do it again tomorrow and see if it frees up. Chrome is all there but pitted. The interior is complete but as shown. Tires were new in 07 and will hold air but are dry-rotted beyond help. Left wing window is broken but all the other glass is good. Rusted in three places: the trailing bottom edges of the front fenders and around the drip rail on the left side. Floors and trunk seem very solid. I don't know anything about what important questions to answer but if you'll ask, I will tell you every single thing I can about the car. I want the buyer to be clear and comfortable about what they will own. Looking at the photos (such as they are) a couple things occur to me. The four hubcaps and the steering wheel trim ring are in the car. The surface rust was apparently caused by leaves sitting on the car for years and wearing the paint off. The Edsel is most identified with its grille so it is imortant to point out that the top of the grille shell is cracked. Maybe someone slammed the hood down at one time but the back half of the top of the grille is cracked. You can just see it under the front of the hood in the photo. The crack is not visible when the hood is closed. Please amil with questions and I'll post the answers. On Mar-26-12 at 06:02:10 PDT, seller added the following information: I will post a pic of the door V.I.N. plate but here's the informtion from it: Body Color Trim Date Trans Axle 64C MM 24 11L 3 1
