Up for auction is a 1987 Dodge Ram D-100 Pickup Truck. Its a 8 cylinder, V-8, 5.2 Litre engine. Title date is 08/26/2011. Clear Texas Title. The truck was mainly used in the country. Outside of city limits, but has been used in the city for about a year. Truck wasn't used much since I am a Commercial Truck Driver and have not had much time to work on it or to drive it. I have been using it now for about 3 months and has not given me any problems other than having to had the fuel level float replaced about 3 months ago. Tags are current but registration is due at end of the month. (See picture of tag dates). Truck runs. Needs minor work. I need to sell it due to financial strains. The carburetor needs minor adjustment. 2 valve. Transmission needs filter and fluid replaced. Transmission shifts and speeds up, but needs work on the transmission gear shifting. She starts fine. Gets up to 85 MPH, but shakes somewhat when it gets to 35 MPH and 55 MPH. Once past 55 MPH, it does ok. Has plenty of power. Does not overheat. Does very well in the city streets. Needs an oil change soon. Previous owner passed away. Truck had been sitting for 3 1/2 years at nephew's home before I bought it. Not sure if it ever was given an oil change or tune up. Changed tires, batteries and gave it a tune up. Here is the description of what I have done for it so far and what it may probably need. WORK DONE: The fuel tank fuel level floater was replaced about 3 months ago and the fuel levels read just fine now. I had the floater replaced through the bed of the truck. Was going to cost more to drop the tank. The cut out square is still there (8"x8"), but the bed tarp is thick and it covers it. It does not affect anything else. The original seat was damaged so it had the original seat taken out by the second owner and had bucket seats placed in it. She had all 4 tires replaced with new ones in 2011. The bed tire is a used tire. Complete tuneup. The oil and oil filter were changed. The battery is less than a year old. The distributor cables, cap, distributor rotor and coil are new. The fuel filter and (manual) fuel pump were replaced. The blinker sensor and one left rear light were replaced. Rear light covers are new. PVC valve and air filter are new. The radiator was flushed and it has new fluid in it (orange). The thermostat is new. The brake lines were bled and brake pads are new. The front seat was badly torn and had the seat replaced with two bucket seats, so there is a space between the two seats for a drink holder or whatever. The radio is an AM / FM Radio with Cassette player and it works. WORK NEEDED: I have not yet replaced the exhaust donut between the catalytic converters and manifold. One belt shrieks when quickly accelerated, but belts look okay. May need belt spray. It has a new and bigger rear view mirror on it. The heater coil had a leak and the windshield used to fog up inside during winter from that coil leak, so the external hoses were removed from the heater coil and bypassed directly, back to the motor. It has no heater and no bad coolant vapors either. The A/C compressor turns on but there is a leak in one of the hoses. When the last mechanic tried putting in freeon, R-12, The compressor kicked in and started cooling, but the next day it didn't cool anymore. I went back and had them test the AC system and found a leak in one or two of the lines. Compressor works, but wont hold the freeon. The wipers work. The washer fluid motor turns on but no washer fluid comes out. Might need a cleaning. Perhaps the fluid lines are clogged or calcium deposits in the wiper lines. The windows roll up and down but you have to play with the window cranck. The driver seat belt needs replacing. It has an extension to reach around since it is shorter. She needs a new paint job. Some minor dents. No accidents. The doors on both sides have two dents from using the hips to close the doors. The front windshield has a small crack on the passenger side, but will pass inspection.
