Each vehicle is accurately represented to the best of my ability from its performance while being road tested. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very nice 1996 Nissan Quest GXE. This low mile van has only had one owner and looks to have been taken care of very well. I would rate the exterior condition of this van to be AVERAGE for the age and miles. There is some clear coat flaking on the left fender (see photo). Otherwise the paint looks good. There are a few small scratches and dents from normal use but nothing horrible. The glass and lenses all appear to be intact. The alloy wheels look good and are wrapped in nice rubber all around. Overall, this is a great looking van. I would rate the interior of this van as EXCELENT CONDITION, a rating I rarely give. It's obvious that this van was well cared for. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show very well throughout the cabin. The seats also show very well throughout the interior. This van boasts captains chairs in the center and a bench in the rear. The original books and manuals are included as well as the original window sticker, too. This van stickered for over $26,000 back in 96 and is loaded with features and options. The power windows, locks, seat and mirros all work properly. The stereo is the original system which sounds great. There are rear audio controls, too. The climate control system appears to be working properly. There is rear heat and air conditioning, too. In addition to the factory remote entry system which is working properly, this van comes with a remote starter which also works properly. Mechanically, this van appears to be in good running condition. The 3.0L V6 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. It does not smoke and I did not see any leaks. The suspension, steering and brakes feel good. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts smoothly, too. The engine keeps a good temperature while driving. I've put about 75 miles on this van and it drives very well. Highway cruising is nice and easy with no vibrations or pulling. It has a newer PA safety and emissions inspection if you are a PA buyer. I've put in excess of 100 miles on this van before listing it with no issues. A few days ago, the check engine light came on while going into work. The code is "incorrect gear ratio 4th gear". I have no idea what that means...it is not a code I've come across before. I can tell you that I haven't seen any drivability issues with this van. I just wanted to disclose that. I've cleared the code and it hasn't come back yet...but I wanted you to be aware in case it decides to come back. One would be hard pressed to find a nicer 96 anything if you're shopping for a van.
