Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a my 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback. I purchased this car from a classic car dealership in Washington with the hopes of completing the restoration. Unfortunately my budget will not allow for the TLC that this vehicle will need to finish it up. It comes with a clear title but no existing warranty. It has a two barrel 289 that runs strong. The car's VIN# indicates that it was originally an A-Code, four barrel 289 car. The mileage is listed as exempt on the title as it is an ongoing restoration. The car has matching numbers for a 1965 A-Code Fastback. (on the body) The engine does not match. It will need a new paint job. The current one is old and showing its age by the fact that it was done very poorly by a previous owner. The wiring is original but has a few issues. However, it is up to code with working head and taillights. The locks need to be replaced along with the trunk lock. The radio works just fine but will need speakers to be heard. It has Shelby taillights installed by a previous owner; very cool. The body is pretty solid overall with the exception of a few areas. Underneath the front bumper it was previously damaged and not properly popped out. I have included pictures of that area. The left 1/4 panel has rusted through. That is one of the few areas with rust on the car that I can find other than surface. Above the windows there was a bondo job by the previous owner that is less than to be desired. It was painted over. It will need to be sanded down for a good repaint. It has Ford rally wheels and white letter tires. They look sharp. The interior is custom done in two tone black/white leather. The interior will need almost nothing to complete restoration on it aside from a new headliner, rear seat light covers, and a cover for the ash tray. I have the metal bands to install the new headliner. This is a running and driving vehicle. I have recently reregistered it for a new clear title and drive it around town when the weather permits. Definitely an eye catcher. There is a mild grinding on occasion from the engine fan. I simply believe that the fan is too large and will need a NOS or reproduction one from Ford to solve the issue. It will also require a new radiator. The currently one tends to overheat after extended driving at highway speeds. I am thinking about 3-6K will complete the restoration on this car with somebody who has the time and know all for what they are doing. I was hoping to be the one to hang onto it, but my loss is your gain. Automatic transmission. (original) Power steering. (original) Power brakes. (original, need to be bled) SHIPPING: You will be responsible for getting it shipped to your location. I have no problem getting it within a half hour or so from my location and I am flexible with time and place. Just make sure you have the means to ship it before you buy it, please. I would not recommend driving a 40+ year old car across the country if you're thinking of picking it up. Here are several videos more detailed pictures of the car. I have included under body shots, engine, body, and anything else I could think of: photobucket.com/albums/o483/TJ651/ youtube.com/watch?v=9ynturwLVa4&feature=youtu.be
