Vehicle Detail

This is a good running and straight 914. Over the last 6 years, it was used for vacations averaging about 700 miles and around town driving of the same. It was repainted in September 2010 with Porsche Iris Blue ( Porsche code 33p, PPG code 16014 ). This is a very easy car to start and drive and handles great. AC and heater work ok. AC was converted to R134 in 2009. Car was originally painted dark green, the 2nd owner had car repainted Iris Blue. Keys are the originals. Interior was redone as the original tan vinyl was dry/hard. Seats were redone in tan cloth. 2 different vinyl's were used, a box weave similar to the original then a smooth tan vinyl for the back-rest and top of door panels. All gauges work, emergency brake light flashes as it should. The clock in the center console works occasionally. Headlights are Hella and have a good white beam ( these have replaceable bulbs ) . Speedometer was replaced/rebuilt, it currently has 306 miles ( the original comes with the car ). The exact mileage is unknown, the 150000 is an estimate. The engine was rebuilt several years ago by the 2nd owner and runs strong. It is a 2 liter with autocross cam and big valves. Dual 40mm Dellarto's with a vacuum advance distributor and optical fire ignition - the Bosch 3-way spark plugs were recently changed to E3 diamond-fire ( it starts better and accelerates smoother ). Transmission is in good shape, minor fluid weeps on hot days. Clutch was changed in 2007, 1st gear synchro replaced in 2011. Boots and flanges are good. Front brakes are BMW 320i's with the stock 17mm master cylinder and stainless brake lines. All the lights work as they should. Bumpers are shiny with no surface rust. The back bumper has a small crease on the driver side, and the front bumper has a ripple between the bumper guard and the license plate. It's hard to see but it can be felt. Body is tight with good door and window rubber. Front and rear trunk rubber were redone in 2011. This car has the stock sway bars - front and rear. Tires / wheels: Current combo is 15inch Fuchs with fresh Kumho tires. A set of 15inch Mahle's also with Kumho are available as well. The additional set can be included in this sell for an additional $250. The spare is an un-painted Fuchs. The current Targa top is painted, a non-painted targa will be included as well as a stock 2-liter muffler ( the banana type - in good condition ). Items less than 100% : back-window rubber, section of vinyl on the dash is curling up, the bumpers as mentioned before, the fresh-air fan stopped working. A small rock hit the front trunk lid was touched up ( right after the paint job ) and a small paint discoloration on the driver fender, ( about 2mm diameter ). Owner history: Original owner lived and brought car in California. He moved to DFW due to job transfer. He had a small fender bender causing the driver fender to be replaced ( with a 75/76 fender ). Afterwards, he sold the car to an older couple that used it for vacations. They repainted the car to blue and had the motor rebuilt. They sold the car in late 2006, and the paint, interior and ignition were redone by me. Please email with questions, additional pictures or a test drive. Car is in Dallas / Fort Worth area. Payment is $1000 ( via paypal ) within 4 days of auction end, with remaining balance within 14 days of auction end. Payment must be received before picking up / delivering car. Title is blue Texas title. On Mar-12-12 at 18:20:04 PDT, seller added the following information: The safety sticker was renewed this weekend, so the mileage on odo is now 333. Also, the exhaust is stainless with a Bursch muffler ( not sure if the pictures here depict that well enough ). Thanks. On Mar-15-12 at 19:33:18 PDT, seller added the following information: some additional pictures with Fuchs and under car http://freeebayimagehost.com/images/zsxxzj518fpc0yri9ysd.jpg http://freeebayimagehost.com/images/pxh9f1516uz8rtv5jy.jpg http://freeebayimagehost.com/images/2ehivq6a0xhmmmjcruo.jpg http://freeebayimagehost.com/images/bs8qilbx1ci6h2tw6nch.jpg http://freeebayimagehost.com/images/kzskgt1xhi3jjm0lpku.jpg http://freeebayimagehost.com/images/kdf3ql9aqwcjzujzg0i0.jpg http://freeebayimagehost.com/images/2cpkms7dlh87y68p1q71.jpg
