Vehicle Detail

this was a 1976 R90S and i sold most of the 90 parts. i put a R75 motor in it and also have a spare R60 motor in fair shape. i have spare R75 cylinders and a spare short block. i have a spare frame and two spare transmissions, one kick 4 and one 5 speed. both need rebuilding. not shown but included in this sale are the exhaust headers. i have some shorty mufflers and one long silencer. i have a host of parts too numerous to mention including correct twin disk brake master cylinders, clutch, flywheels, starters i also will include the most of an RT fairing in good condition, inner and outer shells. add the windscreen and you've got a complete fairing. it does not include the lowers which fit around the engine. notice the bike has lester mags in good condition. the lot includes two sets of carbs, one bing gravity type. i do have the front cover for the bike and engine shown. i do not have the top covers, only what is shown. the bike does not have a wiring harness or working instruments although i have the remains of the old one. it is in poor shape with the tach missing. the bike was wrecked at one time. the bike does not have a working headlamp, although i have the original R90S shell. i also have very rare tank badges which glue on the gas tank. one has a chip. the bike frame shown has a good title and current registration. oklahoma tag good until next year. cylinders show varying compression from 50 - 110 depending on which guage i use. i suspect one valve seat was not cut properly and needs to be redone. i should add the RT fairing pieces are in good condition - only some minor paint peeling from the red finish. also included are photos of much of the larger pieces, spare short block and R75 cyl's, spare short block for R60, R60 cyl's, pistons and heads, two large pieces for RT fairing (inside covers and center piece still not shown) and the spare frame. the fairing hanger will be removed from the frame. it was welded on and i will take care not to damage the frame if possible. also i would like this bike and parts to be picked up within 3 days of sale in oklahoma city. if possible. On Mar-09-12 at 08:17:42 PST, seller added the following information: i should add that the cylinders on the bike do have broken fins. however all of the other cylinders (4) have no broken fins. all of the cylinders have clean bores without pitting or rust and should be close to original tolerance. none of the heads (4) have broken fins. it does appear that the little muffler mount ear on the frame 4973102 assembled bike is bent a little inside. however any other frame damage doesn't seem to be visible. i suggest you take it to a professional for precise measurements. On Mar-09-12 at 12:32:00 PST, seller added the following information: on the other side of things, i did find a title for the OK 9830001. it is out of date. oklahoma waives penalties if you have replace a motor or tranny. you do the math here. back to 4973102. i felt that i straightened this frame some time ago after the 98 wreck. (a semi backed over my bike then pulled out of it so it was run over twice twirling the bike under the wheels each time. ) i had made a "jig" out of an old bus front end and anchored the bike's front yoke securely in it. you can also use an old fork tube then find a mounting vise. then i applied a twisting motion counterclockwise to the rear of the frame. if i remember rightly, when i drove it the pull was rather slight and might could be adjusted on most other bikes, but the bmw has no rear axle adjustment due to the drive unit. so i say put it in another rig of your making and do the same thing, apply inertia to the rear of the frame - maybe it would be clockwise. you've got to get a true length of rod to pass through the rear mount holes to see exactly what is straight and in line with the front yoke. also one note: the tank badges are multi-colored, red white and blue. On Mar-10-12 at 09:37:52 PST, seller added the following information: also to be clear all the short blocks have good cranks and connecting rods. they all seem to be tight and in good condition. no spun bearings or anything like that. also the 2nd frame is straight and was never in a wreck to my knowledge. after thinking a bit last night about the first frame (4973102) i don't think i considered the longitudinal axis of the rear mounts. i might have straightened it better if i had considered how the holes line up from front to rear as well as the height. someone with a good eye and a little leverage might be able to correct things rather easily. as i said, it only seemed like a minor drift to the left and i could have been mistaken. it might not need any adjustment at all and is already a good straight frame. i will likely be out on Sunday when the auction closes, so i'll get back to winner on monday.
