Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Up for auction is a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am. The car was repainted in 2008 to its original color of buccaneer red. The engine was rebuilt sometime within the past six years (just before I purchased the car) and the transmission was also rebuilt around the same time. The car has a Pontiac (non matching #s) 400 and a turbo 350 transmission. The car also has a true duel exhaust with headers and two chamber mufflers installed by Lou’s custom exhaust of North Reading, MA. The chassis itself has around 115,000 miles on it, but the engine and transmission rebuild only have an estimated 6,000 to 7,000 miles on them, possibly less. The car has only been driven 2,500 to 3,000 miles since being repainted. As mentioned above the paint is new as of 2008. I have driven the car since them, so the paint is not perfect due to road debris, etc. However it is still in very good shape and has all the proper graphics and emblems. The battery has been recently replaced, also as of 2008 the gas tank is brand new, the dash cover is new, and the shifter bezel and the front seat covers are also new. The tires are new 15 inch BF Goodrich Radial T/As mounted on Wheel Vintiques Rally II rims with a full size spare. I also have the original Pontiac Rally IIs that come with the car; they just need to be painted. The car also had a brand new Pinoneer stereo installed in 2008 with brand new speakers. The trunk mat is new. In 2009 I had the Rochester Quadra jet professionally rebuilt, and the windows professionally tinted. Since I bought this car in 2007 it has only been driven to and from car shows during nice weather. The oil has been changed frequently and the car is only worked on by a professional mechanic that has an extensive knowledge in antique GM vehicles. The car does need a few finishing touches most of which are minor. The heater/defroster needs to be reconnected. The rear seats and door panels could stand to be refinished. The driver’s side door handle also needs to be replaced. The speedometer/odometer does not work due to a snapped cable. There is a small area of rot (about the size of a half dollar0 on the lower rear fender on the driver’s side. It is an area easy to fix. I have a bunch of spare parts that I will include. This includes spare side windows, a spare gauge cluster and some other misc parts. I also have a copy of the window sticker from Pontiac Historical Society that I will include. As stated above the paint is not perfect, anybody who has any concerns over the condition of the car and is serious about bidding may inspect it before doing so. This car is being sold as is with no warrantee included. This car is an antique that is over 35 years old; the seller assumes no responsibility for any unknown problems that may develop after the sale of the vehicle.
