Each vehicle is accurately represented to the best of my ability from its road test performance. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a very nice 2002 Saab 9-3. This Saab comes in very desirable trim. It has the SE package with the 2.0L turbocharged engine and a manual transmission in rare black on black. I would rate the exterior of this Saab to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for the age and miles of this vehicle. As you can see, this is a great looking car. There are some noticable scratches and a few scuffs from normal use. The black paint has a mile deep shine and otherwise looks great. The rear spoiler and alloy wheels give this Saab a very aggressive look. The tires have good tread. There is a chip in the windshield. It's above the AS-1 line. Check your local inspection laws. Either way, I would recommend having it filled in...it looks fresh. This is a great looking car. I would rate the interior of this Saab 9-3 to also be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and miles. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets show well throughout the interior. The two tone seats show well and are very comfortable. The plastic trim piece on the side of the drivers seat is loose but it doesn't get in the way. Being an SE, the interior of this Saab is loaded with features and options. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The power windows, locks, seats and sunroof work properly. The stereo is the original Saab CD system which sounds great. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. This Saab is equipped with OnStar if you would like to subscribe to their services. The remote entry system is working properly. Saab has a reputation for performance and reliability. What people often overlook is their interiors. The other part of a fast car that lasts forever and can do 150mph for 24hrs strait is that you (as a driver) has to be able to make the car do these things. Saab focuses as much on the endurance of the driver as well as the car itelf. Everything inside the cabin is designed for ease of use and to fight driver fatigue. Saabs are excellent cars to own. Mechanically, this Saab appears to be in good running condition. The 2.0Lturbocharged engine starts easily and runs smoothly. The engine does not smoke and I did not see any leaks. I've driven this car for two days and it drives very well. The suspension, steering and brakes feel good. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip. Gear changes through the manual transmission are smooth and effortless. The car keeps a good operating temperature and there were no warning lights on. Accelleration is effortless thanks to the 200hp turbocharged engine. Spool time is minimal and the turbo brings the power on in spades, easily burning through first and second gears on a dry road. It was raining the day I first drove this car and I couldn't merge onto the highway without tripping the traction control in second and third gears! Even at highway speeds, this car gathers speed much faster than I expected in top gear. There is one thing to point out. The emergency brake will need adjusted as it is useless.
