Vehicle Detail
This is a rare Police version of the CB450. I was told that the original owner was the Apple Valley MN police department for use on their extensive park system. It appears to have the correct patrol lights, siren, fenders, switches, and levers. The rear-tire-driven siren is mounted on the front crash bar and is activated by pulling a lever fitted on the left handlebar. I have shown pictures of the siren front, the drive cable, and the rear-tire-drive assembly. The siren does work when spinning the wheel by hand and engaging this drive roller. Please note picture showing the cracked drive cable casing just below the grease fitting. Two red patrol lamps are mounted on the front crash bar. A heavy-duty carrier mounted behind the seat is designed to carry special police equipment such as a radio. The seat is in good condition with no rips or tears. The rear crash bar was covered in what looks like duct tape at some point but appears to be chrome underneath the tape. Please see picture where I peeled back a bit of the tape to reveal the chrome. This bike has a clean MN title in my name. It is titled as a 1970 model which is probably the first time it was titled for public use. Frame number is CB450P 3011458 and engine number is CB450E 3011486 which I believe makes this a K2 which aligns with the 1969 model year. I have owned this project 15+ years and never got to it so now it could be your turn to bring back this rare classic. This is a PROJECT BIKE FOR PARTS OR RESTORATION. The bike does not run, the wiring harness is all unplugged inside the headlight, tires do not hold air, and the rims are rusty. Please note that all of the pictures do not show the 'freckles' on the tank, fenders, and chrome. They may buff out of the paint but I had planned to repaint it. Take a look at the photos, and e-mail with any questions. I have tried to photograph and describe the true condition of this bike but am not an expert. More pics available on request. You are also welcome to inspect the bike in person. I have this bike listed as local pickup only but will work with the shipper of your choice. I do not have a means to transport the bike to a shipper but can be available at time of pick up. Payment by PayPal or Cashiers Check / Money Order drawn on a US bank, but checks need to fully clear the bank before the bike ships. Payment expected within 7 days of auction end.
