1936 - 1937 - 1938 NON WORKING Pierce Arrow. You decide what year it is: Here is what I was told: The car is a 1938 model as it has a banjo steering wheel and a trunk lid licence plate mounting.One of about 40 Pierces made that year before the company folded,so very rare! Looks to be a 138" wheel base. I have no numbers on the car. However, someone wrote to me and told me exactly where to look on the engine block. Here is what we found: 314068 or it could be 314008 but we think the first number is correct. Interior is shot ~ see photos. Overall the metal on the car is not as bad as you would expect from the condition of the interior. Both spare tire wells are rusted out. Running boards are rusted and overall bad condition. Body panel below the trunk is rusted and partially missing. No grill in front. Looks to be an eight cylinder engine block. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET Please feel free to ask questions. BUY AS IS. NO TITLE to this. *Please note ~ I've been told by some of you that this is a 1937 and someone told me it was a 1938, last year very rare. This automobile is in northwestern Philadelphia suburbs. On Mar-06-12 at 04:04:17 PST, seller added the following information: Since I have listed this car ~ I have heard from LOTS of people. I now believe that it is a 1938 because of the steering wheel and license plate. From what I have read the 1938's had all years of parts put in them just to complete a car because Pierce Arrow was in decline and this became their last year. I believe that is why this car has a 1936 engine number. Of course you all know more about this car than I do. Good luck to everyone.
