Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 1956 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special. This is a low mileage vehicle with only 68,000 original miles on the original 365 v-8, and Hydra-matic transmission. It runs very strong and shifts through the gears very nicely. The motor runs smooth and does not overheat. The only work that I have done to the car since I bought it was a carb rebuild. I originally bought it for the motor and transmission for my 1954 cadillac series 62. I decided to rebuild the 331 for my 54 Cadillac, and so now I am going to be selling this 1956 4 door Fleetwood. I have driven the car around my neighborhood and it drives well. It does leak power steering fluid pretty quickly from somewhere by the steering box, but when the fluid is up it works beautifully. The breaks need to be worked with; I had them working awhile back but they have been sitting for a while and have lost pressure. I use the emergency brake to move the car around. All of the electrical is in really good untouched condition. All the exterior and interior lights work great, including the blinkers. The power windows are not working though I believe it is just the connection at the switch, sometimes the windows will start to roll down when using individual door switches. The car is mostly complete though it is missing the following items: the front and back V-emblems on the hood and trunk; the trunk lock; the Cadillac emblem on the hood; the bat-wing air cleaner; the washer fluid bottle; hubcaps(those pictured do not come with the car. and the antenna. The interior is all complete down to every emblem. The seats are dry rotted and will need to be recovered. The headliner is starting to come down. The dash vinyl has been removed. The car does have some rust in a few areas; 1- the drivers side floor board is rusted out,2- rust in the rocker panels, 3- a little rust in the passenger side fender, 4- a small area in one of the quarter panels. The trunk is solid. All the rust areas are very patchable. The body is really pretty straight with only a few dents. All of the glass is good except both front door windows and the windshield. The trim is in good condition with light pitting on the quarter panel trim. The front and back bumpers are in good condition. There are a few small dents in the front lower bumper. The exhaust bumper ports are not rusted out and are in good condition. The grill is in great shape. These bumpers are very valuable as any Cadillac owner knows. Both exhaust mufflers have holes in them. The tires are not in good shape, but they hold air. The battery will need to be replaced, I have to use a jump starter to get it running. I have a clear title to the car, which states the actual mileage, it is a Nevada title. Extras that come with the car: 2 sets of tail lights; some original upholstery fabric in a bag; a piece of fender trim that was damaged. This is a great car for a nice cruiser or restoration, or a parts car for your 50's Cadillac, or Cadillac 365 powered hot rod.On Feb-26-12 at 18:50:36 PST, seller added the following information: The two front door windows will need to be replaced; the drivers side is shattered, and the passengers is all the way out. The windshield is cracked pretty bad on the passenger side; it will need to be replaced as well. The picture does not show the crack in the windshield very well. The car also has the power seat, though it is not working. Santa Clara, UT is about 1hr. 45min north on I-15 from Las Vegas. On Mar-02-12 at 22:25:59 PST, seller added the following information: I just recently lowered the reserve price in hopes to get out of the car what I have put into it. I hope to get 1700.00 out of this vehicle. For those of you interested in me parting out the car, I think it would be better for you to buy the vehicle and take what you need and then part it out yourself. You'll find that you will make your money back no problem. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time to do so right now. Thanks for viewing my listing, and good luck bidding to you all.
