Prospective Bidders: This car is located about 75 Miles northeast of Los Angeles in the Victorville area, the seller (me) is located in Floyd Va. near Roanoke. You are bidding on a 1968 Corvette Big Block (427) convertible with factory hard top and factory side pipes. The car VIN# 194678S405901. The odometer shows 07???, believe it is 107???. This is the L-36 Model rated at 390 H.P. single Quadrajet carburetor Turbo 400 transmission and 353:1 positraction differential and no air conditioning. I am the 3rd owner of the car and familiar with it since 1982. For Most of the time it has been in storage by my friend and previous owner up until 1998 when I bought it. Since I have had it has also been in storage. There are no known major mechanical issues with the engine, trans or rear end just never had the time or money to rehabilitate it properly. This is an extremely original car and to the best of my knowledge the running gear have never been worked on or modified other than maintenance issues. All numbers match. Rather than list what is original, it’s easier to list what is not. Other than expendables like bearings, belts, hoses, tires, brake pads etc. the only non original parts are the steering wheel and the radio. I have the original radio and it goes with the car. Problems. The body has 2 major flaws as pictured. Left front fender needs to be repaired as does the lower rear panel to the left of center. There are lots of stress cracks and the car was (I was told) originally green. One of the hood pins is off and needs to be replaced. No alterations have been made to the body. I have the optional (6) wheel covers (pictured indoor shot) that go with the car. The interior is all there but worn out. It has black leather seats and black carpet, the door panels could use some work. Rear deck has 3 compartments and I have some extra hardware for these. It also contains the (soft) convertible top. All gauges should still work and I have some extra gauges that also go. The vacuum system that operates the headlight doors and the wiper gate will need work as I never worked on them. I have a statement by previous owner as to repairs he made which encompass all the front suspension, steering and brakes and much of the rear suspension, brakes and U joints. While these repairs were done some time ago, the car has seen 0 miles since then. I have replaced the gas tank (new), rebuilt carb. New fuel pump, new fuel pressure regulator and new (now old) tires. I am sure there are other issues but I could fill volumes. I have tried to be honest and hit on the major issues. Please contact me for additional info.
