Vehicle Detail

Our time is up, she needs a new home and she's a real looker. 1973 Convertible Karmann Ghia, red with black top. Purchased in 2001 and in desperate need of attention (repairs and updating), this VW got all the parts she needed to get on the road and look great. Original engine blown last year and we just installed a brand new one. Newer convertible top, rubber, tires, wheels, interior, seats, radio/cd, hydraulic air shocks, they work great. Daily driver type car. This owner is just tired of the idiosyncrasies a 1973 brings and not prepare to keep up with the loving maintenance she really needs. Interior does need some attention (door panels some rubber, etc.) however nothing that keeps her from running and look great. Just spent over $2,000 for a new engine and it's not even broken in yet. See specs below; 1600 motor comes with new: chrome shroud, chrome dual port cylinder tin, degree pulley, spark plug wires, spark plugs, points, cap, rotor, condenser, alt belt, air cleaner and breather combo, chrome valve cover, chrome alt pulley, distributor, fuel pump Used: Stock Carb, intake, rebuilt generator, end castings, alt stand refurbished long block. Thanks for the interest. I have photos of the under side. The pan is good shape however shows a little rusting in two areas. I can send pics if you want (give me your email address). No accidents and garage kept for over 20 years (I have owned for 10). The only "dent is a rust dimple by the gas cap, you'll see that in the photos I can send. A good question was posed to me by an interested party and I thought it was a good one for details..."what I would do next to her?”; I would redo the rub seals around the cab again and then the interior door panels (they are made of vinyl and pressboard. During an extended vacation stay last year, there was no garage, she leaked in a rain storm and the boards got wet and warped. They are still intact and functional; I would just replace them for esthetics. The engine is brand new (300 miles) and still needs more breaking in, very happy with it. I would also put new tips on the exhaust for a shiny look. Long-term project for me was to replace or upgrade the electrical system, again not something absolutely needed.
