I am not a mechanic. I include dozens of photos and as much information as we can gather about each vehicle prior to sale. Each vehicle is represented accurately to the best of my ability. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4. The Jeep Grand Cherokee has consistantly been one of the best values on the market in a used SUV for years now. I would rate the exterior condition of this Jeep Grand Cherokee to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition. There is a rust spot about the size of a dime on the hood from an older stone chip. Otherwise, the body appears to be rust-free. The silver exterior looks great and has a nice, deep shine. There are no major dents, scratches or damage present. All of the glass and lenses appear to be intact. The alloy wheels look good and the tires have decent tread all around. Additionally, this Jeep comes equipped with a towing hitch, too. I would also rate the interior of this Jeep to be in ABOVE AVERAGE condition for the age and miles of the vehicle. Inside, you will see that this is a pretty well equipped Laredo. The door panels are clean and tight all around. The arm rest is cracked on the drivers door from normal use. The carpets are pretty clean throughout the interior. The black leather seats look great and are very comfortable. Both front seats are power operated. The cargo area is clean and spacious. The headliner is also clean and tight. This Jeep is equipped with power windows, locks and mirrors...all of which are working properly. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. The stereo is the original Infinity Sound system with CD and sounds great. The original factory remote entry system is working properly. Mechanically, this Jeep appears to be in good running condition. The 4.0L inline six cylinder engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I did not notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. I've driven this Jeep on several occasions. The engine keeps a steady temperature and great oil pressure. This Jeep drives strait as an arrow and cruises easily at highway speeds. The steering is nice and tight and the brakes do an excellent job at stopping this truck. The front end is nice and tight. I can hear something rattling in the back. It sounds like maybe an exhaust hanger broken or maybe a worn bushing...I couldn't pinpoint the source. The transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. The 4WD is tested and working. This Jeep has the desirable Select-Trac 4WD system. The 4WD takes a little bit to disengage which is normal. This Jeep is PA inspected through October, 2012.
