Its iconic shape will turn heads and the 350 V8 is virtually identical to its more famous sibling, the first muscle car, the GTO. This convertible was purchased directly from the Pontiac factory by the current owner's late father, who was a Pontiac dealer himself. Most of the car is original plus ALL original documents, including the 1972 owner's manual, and many service receipts will be offered with the final sale. For much of the past 40 years the car was garaged and serviced, usually by GM dealers. It drove smoothly and reliably for 141,800 original miles, without any accidents. The car is now ripe for restoration, both under its hood and on its body. It needs a new soft top, upholstry, carpet and paint job. Smart looking and reliable, it deserves to retain its identity as a LeMans Sport rather than be transformed into a wannabe GTO clone. For sale 'as is', it requires the sort of work you might expect on a solid and straight, but 40 year old machine of steel that was garaged and well maintained by its original owner, an engineer. It is with a heavy heart that I offer this marvellous car for sale because I live most of the time overseas. I am unable to either oversee its restoration or drive the car much afterwards. With skilled attention and care, this LeMans Sport 350 convertible will stop traffic, prove great fun, and be reliable and fast.
