Restored 1965 VW single cab This truck was restored three years ago and still looks and runs great. I've had it on the road for two years, mainly short trips to local shows, Sunday drives and runs to Home Depot where it always draws a crowd. It's had all the trouble spots that single cabs are known to have repaired with new metal and is very solid and sound. The only thing that hasn't been replaced is the motor and transmission, which both run strong. All the lighting works along with the working Sapphire 1 radio and has a 12-volt upgrade system with the radio and wiper having a 6-volt step down. Here's a list of the metal work that has been done to the truck, all with new replacement panels. 1. Both front floor corners replaced. 2. Treasure chest floors, replaced both halfs front to back. 3. Both gas tank mounts replaced gas tank sealed. 4. Inner and outer rocker panels replaced both sides. 5. Bottom hinge channel of all three gates replaced. 6. Jack points repaired or replaced. Mechanical work done: 1. All new brakes, wheel cylinders and master cylinder. 2. New seals in reducion boxes. 3. New seals in steering box and new draglink. 5.Battery tray replaced. 6. New shocks. 7. New battery. Other parts replaced: 1. New windshields. 2. All new rubber doors and windows seals and front floor mat. 3. Rebuilt headlight. 4. New wood strips in bed. 5. New door panels. 6. New tool kit. As you can see, just about everything you can think of has been replaced or rebuilt on this truck.Two things that will need to be looked at: One, the speedometer has stopped working, not sure why. And I also don't have a key for the front doors, will need to be rekeyed or replaced. Most of the parts for this bus were purchased from Wolfsburg West. Feel free to e-mail me with questions.
