Vehicle Detail
This is my 1966 Ford Fairlane 500. The car has no engine and transmission because I planned on doing a full restoration on it. This is why the front end is off of the car. This would be a great project car because it is in such great shape. You can even drop an engine and transmission in it and it would be just fine. I have all of the parts for this car to include front fenders, grill, bumper, lights, trim, molding, hood, and all the original hardware neatly labeled and organized. The Exterior body is in great shape. The body is solid. There is some very minor surface rust on the bottom part of the front fenders, but nothing major at all. The paint in the window gutters has the usual little cracks in the paint, but again, nothing major. The driver side rear quarter panel is chipped a little bit. The chrome on the front and rear bumpers is in great shape. This car will come with the stock hood and a brand new tear drop hood. All of the Glass on this car is brand new. The wheels are in perfect condition and they look great on this car. I put on a SSBC disc brake conversion kit on the front end. It has 4 piston SSBC calipers and the brakes work great. I have also replaced the brake master cylinder and added a brake booster to the system, so the brake system is modern and it stops just as good as a new car! The rear end is a ford 8.8 with drum brakes. Now for the interior. The only part of the interior that hasn't been reupholstered is the dash. The seats are tan leather with red piping. The headliner is also new and matches the seats. I also have a brand new carpet still in the box from Dearborn Classics. The dash board is custom made and has brand new Autometer Classic Gauges in it. The back deck has also been reupholstered to match, and it has brand new Panasonic speakers in it. The trunk has also been upholstered in black carpet to include the lid, and it looks great. The electrical system works perfectly, and everything worked fine before I took the engine out. I have a brand new engine that is shown in the pictures, but is NOT included in the auction. It is the motor that I had built for this fairlane, and was planning on putting in the car. If the winner of the auction decides he/she wants the motor, we can work out an additional deal for it. It is a big block ford that has been balanced, bored, and stroked. It has a Comp Cam #34-247-4 cam, Melling hi volume oil pump, Melling oil pump shaft, Milodon pick up tube, Milodon oil pan Engine Pro Double roller timing set, Probe 4.300 stroke Stroker Kit, Harland Sharp Roller Rockers, Comp Cam lifters, and Aluminum Super Cobra Jet Heads. The engine was built by a reputable machine shop. The machine shop said it is about 522 cubic inches and should make about 600HP to the wheels depending on the heads, intake, and carb. Even though this is a big motor, I had it built to run on the street and on pump gas (premium). In addition to the motor I have the valve cover gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, Ford timing cover, timing cover gasket, and oil pan gasket. The only things missing from this motor are an intake, carb, and ignition system. This will be an awesome project car that doesn't have much more to go.
